Amy Jo Brownson shares a joke with the Duchess of York

articlemain

What do you call a camel with three humps? How do you kill a circus? And why don't oysters give to charity?

Sarah Ferguson, the Duchess of York, Harry Potter star Daniel Radcliffe and X Factor winner Joe McElderry know the answers.

These are their contributions to a new joke book put together by 10-year-old Amy Jo Brownson.

Amy Jo, a year six pupil at North Cheshire Jewish Primary School (NCJPS), decided she wanted to compile a book containing jokes from celebrities to raise money for charity.

Fifty-nine high-profile names, including Gordon Brown, the Chief Rabbi Lord Sacks, Amanda Holden, Kevin Keegan and Bob the Builder, donated a joke.

There are also more than 100 jokes from Amy Jo's fellow pupils at NCJPS.

Amy Jo, who lives in Hale, tells People: "I enjoy joking around with my friends and, last February, I approached my head teacher to ask about putting lots of jokes together in a book.

"I have really enjoyed the time that it has taken and am glad that we have finally produced it."

Does she have a favourite entry? "I like Sarah Ferguson's one about the camel, and Joe McElderry's."

Proceeds from the £5 book, titled Laugh Your Socks Off, are being split between Sports Relief and NCJPS.

Children's author Anthony Horowitz wrote the introduction to the book, which was published at the end of last month.

Oh, and as for the punchlines: Humphrey; go for the juggler; and they are too shellfish. Baboom.
