Nazi symbols have been daubed on two Conservative Party offices in Aberdeen, in the north east of Scotland. 

It is not known why the premises were targeted with swastikas, though Tory members of the Scottish Parliament have recently been involved in the development of hate crime legislation. 

North east Scotland MSP Douglas Lumsden posted pictures on social media of graffiti on the door and window of his office in the Rosemount Place area of the city.  

MSP Liam Kerr, who shares the office, said his staff who encountered the swastikas earlier today “shouldn’t have to face this nonsense”.  

Thugs also targeted a second venue in the city on West Mount Street, which is home to the City of Aberdeen Conservatives group.  Both incidents have been reported to Police Scotland. 

It's not the first time the Rosemount Place office has been targeted with Nazi graffiti.  In January of last year, former MSP Tom Mason revealed how swastikas had been daubed on his windows. 

Following the attack on Thursday night, Mr Lumsden said: “Scottish Parliamentary staff came to work this morning and were greeted by this despicable vandalism. 

“No one deserves to be faced with this, in what is meant to be a fair and tolerant society. 

“Recent appeals for a fairer and more respectful politics were plainly lost on someone. 

“It has been reported to the police.” 

Mr Kerr also tweeted the pictures and said: “This is what met our staff at our vandalised office this morning. 

“Disgraceful.  Public money will be wasted on cleaning this up.  Our excellent staff shouldn’t have to put up with this nonsense.”
