Security up as Gaza activists plan air flotilla

Israel's police spokesman Micky Rosenfeld has said that there will be additional security forces at Ben Gurion airport this week, as pro-Palestinian activists pledged to arrive by air to protest against the naval blockade of Gaza.

Earlier this week the Greek government announced a ban on ships leaving Greek ports to sail on a flotilla to Gaza. Although they offered to transport the cargo of the ships to Gaza, the activists refused.

Instead, they said they would target the Israeli government by air. Mr Rosenfeld said Israel would be prepared for disruptions with hundreds of extra officers at the international airport.

Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu also said that Israel, as every country did, had "a right to block the entry of provocateurs"
