Paul Simon sets date for Israel gig

articlemain

Paul Simon is to perform in Israel this summer.

Mr Simon will take to the stage at the Ramat Gan stadium on July 21 for his third performance in Israel.

The iconic star, whose famous songs include The Sound of Silence and Mrs Robinson, will stop in Israel as part of a world tour to promote his new album So Beautiful or So What.

He will entertain Israeli audiences a month after they watch his fellow Jewish 1960s legend Bob Dylan perform in Tel Aviv.

After a 1983 concert in Israel with long-time collaborator Art Garfunkel, music producer Avi Brand said of Mr Simon: "Paul Simon couldn't believe that he could go to the beach [in Tel Aviv] without being besieged. People would point him out to friends but that was as far as it got."
