Palestinian killed in Gaza border clash

articlemain

At least one Palestinian terrorist, who attempted to plant a bomb at the Gaza border fence, has been killed by the Israeli army.

The IDF and Palestinian sources have confirmed the attack happened on the Kissufim border with Gaza.

The IDF said that a group of Palestinians had attempted to breach the border and a Givati strike force fired and shelled at the group. Military helicopters were also used to target the men.

The dead man is a member of the al-Quds Brigade, the military section of Islamic Jihad, the terrorist group confirmed.

Islamic Jihad also claimed that on Sunday some of their members were made to sign contracts by Hamas police, stating they would not use rocket attacks against Israel.

Reports claim the Israelis advanced around 200 metres into Gaza, in the direction of the Al-Bureij refugee camp.

It is believed that the terrorists did not manage to plant any explosives on the border but the army is continuing to search the area.

Last month two IDF soldiers, Eliraz Peretz and Ilan Sviatkovsky, were killed after a Palestinian attack near Khan Yunis in the south of the Gaza Strip.
