Palestinian killed in clashes as IDF hunts teens’ kidnappers

articlemain

More than 150 suspects – including Hamas officials - have been arrested by the IDF since Saturday, following the kidnapping of three yeshivah students last Thursday.

Last night, one Palestinian man was killed in clashes with the IDF, and two men in Hebron were arrested.

International leaders – from Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to US Secretary John Kerry – have indicated that Hamas was responsible for the kidnapping of three teenagers.

The teenagers - Israeli Eyal Yifrach, 19, Israeli Gilad Shaar, 16 and Israeli-American Naftali Frenkel, 16 – were last seen in the area surrounding Hebron in the West Bank on Thursday night.

An international campaign in support of the families of those kidnapped has been launched on social media using: #BringBackOurBoys and #EyalGiladNaftali.

Yesterday, more than 1,000 British Jews came together and prayed for the safe return of the students.

Chief Rabbi Ephraim Mirvis – who led the prayer at Hendon United Synagogue – said: “Our thoughts are with the families of the three teenagers missing in the West Bank.

“We stand alongside their families and the state of Israel and I call upon Jewish people around the world to pray for their safe return and for lasting peace in the Middle East.”
