Natalie Portman visits Israel with Alef

Israeli-born actress Natalie Portman has visited Israel to introduce her baby son to family members still living there.

Ms Portman, who was born Natalie Hershlag in Jerusalem, was joined by her fiancé, choreographer Benjamin Millepied. Their son Alef was born six months ago.

The actress, who won the Best Actress Academy Award last year for her role as a tormented dancer in Black Swan, was also accompanied by bodyguards to protect her from press intrusion.

According to Ynet, she stayed at the King David Hotel, and toured sites in Jerusalem, Tel Aviv and the Dead Sea,

Onlookers saw her browsing at Jerusalem's Machane Yehuda Market and posting a note at the Western Wall.
