Increased West Bank terror

articlemain

As the ceasefire in Gaza went into effect this week, fears are growing of a wave of terror attacks in Jerusalem and the West Bank.

Avraham Vales, a 29-year-old member of the Toldot Aharon Chasidic sect, was murdered on Monday when a large mechanical digger driven by a Palestinian resident of East Jerusalem charged into a bus in Jerusalem. The digger driver was shot dead by police. Later that day, a man on a motorcycle shot a soldier waiting at a bus stop by Mount Scopus. The soldier was severely wounded and the shooter escaped.

According to the evidence gathered by the Shin Bet, Husam Kawasmeh, the alleged killer of teenagers Naftali Frenkel, Gilad Shaer and Eyal Yifrach, who was arrested three weeks ago, was the leader of a Hamas cell and received funding from Hamas in Gaza.
