JC GOAL OF THE WEEK: THE CONTENDERS

- BEN DAVIS (Hertswood Vale) - a poor free-kick was gobbled up by Davis who smashed in an absolute screamer from 25 yards – Redbridge’s keeper had absolutely no chance

- JOSH COHEN (Hertswood Vale) - GOAL 2 - a goal-of-the season contender, Vale’s fourth and Cohen's second of the morning. A counter-attack found Josh Gorb on the left, he looked up, played a lofted crossfield box which found Cohen on the right side of the area which he hit first time across the keeper and into the corner, right on the postage stamp. Reminiscent of Kasami vs. Crystal Palace

- JONNY BLAIN (NL Raiders C) - a goal scored immediately from the KO at the halfway line. Sublime!

- ZAC SUMMERFIELD (Scrabble FC) - picked up a loose ball on the halfway line, brought the ball forward 15 yards along the line evading three tackles before switching feet and striking an unstoppable shot past the outstretched hand of the Faithfold keeper from 35 yards out

- BRAD GAYER (Redbridge JC B) - captain fantastic made up for a penalty miss with an absolute banger. Picking up the ball just in the opposition half, he drove at defence before unleashing a ferocious effort from 30 yards straight into top corner and celebrating before it hit the net just quality from the captain

----------------------

JC SAVE OF THE WEEK: THE CONTENDERS

- NATHAN MEHLMAN (Redbridge JC C) - produced a fantastic save low to the right corner

- SCOTT SHEAR (Redbridge JC B) - SAVE 1 - once again a breathtaking penalty save. Just superb

SCOTT SHEAR (Redbridge JC B) - SAVE 2 - Hendon had 2 chances the whole game. And with a one on one another amazing save

- DANIEL KOSKY (Faithfold A) - stunning point-blank save against Scrabble

JC QUOTE OF THE WEEK: THE CONTENDERS

- JASON STEIN (Oakwood B) - QUOTE 1 - "The winner came from an unexpected source in right back Dani Dennison. It's his second-ever goal for Oakwood and both have been winners away from home against Los Blancos. No doubt he had extra motivation today playing against his cousin Louie Libbert who had scored for Blancos"

- JASON STEIN (Oakwood B) - QUOTE 2 - "It's always exceptionally strange when northerns move to London and choose not to play for Oakwood. And that's certainly the case with a really talented player like Louie. Maybe he's trying to hide his northern heritage. If so it's a very sad state of affairs. If he ever decides to come out we will welcome him with open arms"

- JOSH HAMBLING (Redbridge JC C) - QUOTE 1 - "It all started off so well; I turned up four minutes late to the required 9.10am meet time only to find every player in the changing rooms getting ready. I thought this is brilliant a perfect start to the day. That's about as positive as it got. We started at 10.30 some 30 minutes after the ref blew his whistle as prior to that and going three goals down through some shocking defending and man-marking it was hard to believe I was watching my team"

- JOSH HAMBLING (Redbridge JC C) - QUOTE 2 - "I nominate all of Hertswood for TOTW to save Viv a job!"

- NICK STERN (L'Equipe) - "I know I have said this a lot this season but I was so so proud of my team this Sunday. We had a much depleted squad missing our two top goal-scorers as well as half of our starting defence from last week’s game, but seemingly nothing stops us this year"

- JOEL HOLDER (Finchley City) - "Anyone watching the game knows we deserved to come out with something, so there are still a lot of positives to take. The first 35 minutes was the best football I have seen any team play this season. I hope we are not too disheartened by the result, because our performance was superb and there is still a lot to play for this season"

- DAVID GARBACZ (Hendon A) - "One final word about SPEC FC - they have had a tough season and it must have been tempting to give up at times this year after a few of their defeats – but all credit to them for fighting on and maintaining the spirit of the league. If they don’t manage to avoid relegation this year we wish them all the best for next season and hope they come straight back up"

PETER MORRISON TROPHY QUARTER-FINAL

NORTH LONDON RAIDERS A 5 NORTH LONDON RAIDERS B 2

A deadly double from Matt Stock steered Dan Shafron's men into the semi-finals of the Peter Morrison Trophy as A's secured NLR bragging rights with a 5-2 win at the Ark. Further efforts from former Player of the Year Liron Mannie, Oscar Wagner and Nick Lewis sealed the win.

Jake Gilbert bagged a brace for Raiders B.

Raiders A manager Dan Shafron told JC Sport: "It was by no means a vintage performance however we got the job done and are pleased to have booked our place in the semi-final."

Raiders B co-boss Jonathan Adelman told JC Sport: "We gave a great account of ourselves - we had a game-plan and executed it really well until we ran out of steam in the closing stages."

MGBSFL PREMIER DIVISION

HENDON UNITED SPORTS CLUB A 7 SPEC FC 0

ZAC LEWIS was the hat-trick hero as Hendon A returned to winning ways with a 7-0 destruction of SPEC FC.

David Garbacz's troops kept their title hopes alive by moving to within four points of leaders Oakwood, with a game in hand. Josh Harris (2) and Dovi Fehler (2) were the other scorers.

Hendon boss David Garbacz told JC Sport: "We did what we had to do to keep ourselves firmly in the title race. After not tasting three points for quite a few weeks that was always the No. 1 priority but the fact that we scored seven in the process did add some gloss and has done wonders for our confidence."

SPEC FC player-manager Ricky Lawrence told JC Sport: "Hendon are a very good side and we didn't quite make it difficult enough for them. We kept going to the end though but there is quite simply too big a gulf between the two sides."

BRADY MACCABI 1 REDBRIDGE JEWISH CARE A 6

Two goals from Daniel Garfinkle kept Redbridge A firmly in the mix as they outclassed Brady Maccabi at Rowley Lane.

Dean Nyman, Ben Sollosi, Nate Kashket and Danny Berg added the gloss as RJC registered their eighth win in 10 matches.

RJC boss Jon Jacobs told JC Sport: "Redbridge are well and truly back and a threat to anyone who thinks the title is decided."

Brady joint-manager Eli Dagul told JC Sport: "Redbridge were lively from the off and utilised their pace to great effect. Hats off to them, we weren't at the races today."

Maccabi London Lions A joined Redbridge on 24 points after edging past FC Team through Harry Marlow after a hard-earned win in Harefield which finished 10 against 10 following a red card apiece.

FC Team player-manager Mitch Young told JC Sport: ""Credit to Lions, they defended superbly and are probably the best defensive side in the league."

DIVISION ONE

LOS BLANCOS 1 OAKWOOD B 2

Rafi Bloom and Dani Dennison ensured Oakwood got back on the win trail as they claimed their fifth success courtesy of a 2-1 win over Blancos.

Bloom opened the scoring early on before Dennison won it 20 minutes from time.

Delighted Oaks boss Jason Stein told JC Sport: "It was a competitive game today and an important win for us. We needed to get back to winning ways and we ground it out."

HENDON UNITED SPORTS CLUB B 0 REDBRIDGE JEWISH CARE B 2

Strikes from Brad Gayer and Kane Hopps boosted Redbridge B's title hopes as they extended their unbeaten run to 11 matches and stayed within a point of leaders Lions B with a game in hand.

RJC boss Sam Rank told JC Sport: "Overall, the boys know they got the job done today. When you are playing teams lower in league we need to raise our game to ensure these games are dead and buried earlier on, but overall the objective today was three points and a clean sheet and this achieved."

MACCABI LONDON LIONS B 3 FINCHLEY CITY 2

A brilliant brace from Michael Kenley plus one from Sammy Kingston kept Lions B a point clear at the summit after a five-goal thriller against Finchley City.

Yoel Deal and Shim Bensoor registered for Finchley for whom boss Joel Holder was left scratching his head as to how they had failed to win the game.

"I can't quite believe how we did not take maximum points on Sunday," he told JC Sport. "The boys absolutely bossed the game, especially the first half where we could of been at least four or five goals up."

SCRABBLE FC 3 FAITHFOLD A 0

In a day where the top three teams all won, Scrabble FC extended their winning streak with a 3-0 triumph over Faithfold, courtesy of goals from Elliot Espinoza, Zac Summerfield and top-scorer Josh Bharier.

Scrabble boss Ray Abrahams told JC Sport: "Talk of promotion is nice to hear but premature. We have five more games left yet and a big job to do so we have to stay focused. Whoever we are playing now these players will give everything are a credit to the club and deserve success."

Faithfold boss Rob Shooman told JC Sport: "It was a good game which Scrabble deserved to win, although it was much closer than 3-0 suggests."

DIVISION TWO

BOCA JEWNIORS 4 NORTH LONDON RAIDERS C 4

Match of the day saw Boca come from 2-1 down at half-time to share the points after an epic 4-4 draw against fourth-placed Raiders C for whom veteran striker JONNY BLAIN scored all four.

Sam Simon (2), Ben Retter and Jamie Leboff were on the mark for Boca in one of the games of the season.

Boca's Anton Nyman told JC Sport: "We always looked in control of the game and yet gave them such sloppy goals that we can't really be too happy with the result."

NLR boss Sam Rose told JC Sport: "A disappointing result for sure. We weren’t at the races second half and that aligned with some poor decisions and a pitch that was cutting up has cost us. Credit to Boca, they fought for that result right until the end."

CATFORD & BROMLEY MACCABI 4 FAITHFOLD B 1

Catford & Bromley leapfrogged Faithfold after turning the tables on the Greens with an impressive 4-1 victory.

Goals from Richard Winton, Jamie Sinai, Callion McGregor and an own goal earned Catford their seventh win of the season.

GBSFL top-scorer Richard Fogelman had put Faithfold in front before catastrophe struck through injury and some ruthless Catford finishing.

Catford player-manager Jeff Gotch told JC Sport: "It's was a close game and then once they went down to 10 men we capitalised on it and took full advantage of the extra player.

Faithfold's Avi Garson told JC Sport: "It's a real shame as it should've been our game.....   when your luck is down you just just have to wait until it turns."

HERTSWOOD VALE 5 REDBRIDGE JEWISH CARE C 1

JOSH COHEN fired a treble as Hertswood Vale claimed one of the results of the season by thumping second placed Redbridge C 5-1.

Ben Davis and Danny Feuer joined the party on a memorable morning for Jacob Emanuel and Jack Shulman's men.

Rafe Neiman accounted for Redbridge's consolation.

Jubilant Hertswood joint-manager Jacob Emanuel told JC Sport: "5-1, another scalp and a second successive win. Job’s a good’un."

RJC boss Josh Hambling was at a lost to explain the result. He told JC Sport: "Strangely some of the boys didn't play that terribly we just couldn't find the openings or goals needed. It just wasn't meant to be today simple as that."

REAL HENDON 2 L’EQUIPE 3

L'Equipe boss Nick Stern told JC Sport: "I know I have said this a lot this season but I was so so proud of my team this Sunday. We had a much depleted squad missing our two top goal-scorers as well as half of our starting defence from last week’s game, but seemingly nothing stops us this year."

Real boss Chaim Gothold told JC Sport: "I've got no idea how we lost today. We were camped in their half for the final 30 minutes but due to a mixture of not getting the rub of the green and their goalkeeper, we couldn't force the draw or win which we would have deserved. Credit to them though as they took their chances and defended resolutely."
