JC GOAL OF THE WEEK: THE CONTENDERS

- ADAM ISAACS (Mill Hill Dons) - a beautiful strike from 20 yards went into the bottom left corner, he hit the sweet spot and the goal keeper stood no chance

- ADAM ELLIS (Bayern Mincha) - Benji Albert, on as a sub and with his first touch, played Ellis through. He turned the defender and smashed it to the top right and scored our first-ever competitive Bayern Mincha goal

- SVI FREEDMAN (Los Blancos) - GOAL 1 - came inside on his left and curled a 30-yard screamer against Temple Fortune

- JOE DAVIS (Los Blancos) - drove with the ball from the halfway line and unleashed a stunning shot from 25 yards into the top corner

- JOSH HARRIS (Hendon Utd Sports) - scored a very special goal which will be remembered by the boys for a long time. He was almost unplayable against Lions

-------------------------------

JC SAVE OF THE WEEK: THE CONTENDERS

- DEC GREEN (Lions White) - stunning reflex save to deny a well hit shot from Josh Harris from six yards, brilliantly parrying the ball wide of the goal

JC QUOTE OF THE WEEK: THE CONTENDERS

- MITCH YOUNG (FC Team) - "Adam Ellis was the best player on the park and scored an unbelievable goal. If they keep him fit all season they will be challenging at near the top."

- DAN KRISTALL (Oakwood A) - QUOTE 1 - "Raiders may point to certain key decisions, certainly on our third goal where there appeared to be a clash of heads in the build up where play should have been stopped but I know Dan won't be arguing with the final score."

DAN KRISTALL (Oakwood A) - QUOTE 2 - "Raiders may also point to certain key individuals being on the touchline rather than on the pitch but we also had up to seven first team regulars missing including last year's player of the year Alex Lee. We kept tight-lipped with our team news before the game but the strength of our squad really showed in this game."

- JOEL HOLDER (Los Blancos) - "At times, we looked powerful, energetic and aggressive, but we will need to show these characteristics on a more consistent basis. We have a great group of lads here, the squad is well-balanced and I am confident that we will challenge for the title come the end of the season."

Oakwood joint-manager Dan Kristall told JC Sport: "It was an absolutely brilliant win against a team that will definitely be up there. Other than the first 20 minutes we completely dominated the game. To not get the clean sheet at the end was a little bit disappointing. I feel we could've won two or three games with the chances we had. From our point of view we were brilliant, with certain individuals outstanding."

HIGHLIGHTS & ANALYSIS ON WHEN SUNDAY COMES

Co-boss Adam Levine added: "We had a few boys missing but it was a pretty comprehensive win. We were comfortable from the first minute and the boys really stepped up."

NLR manager Dan Shafron told JC Sport: "We didn't play well and deserved nothing from the game. We lost every first and second ball against a side who played with a lot more determination and aggression."

MACCABI LONDON LIONS WHITE 0 HENDON UNITED SPORTS A 4

A deadly double from Josh Harris helped Hendon United make a winning start as they over-powered Lions White at Rowley Lane.

Further strikes from Avi Korman and Dovi Fehler gave new boss Greg Corin just the result he wanted.

Hendon's Russell Corin told JC Sport: "We're very happy with the performance against a good young Lions side that I can see troubling some of the top teams this year, particularly once they're back to full strength."

Reflecting on his first game in charge, Lions boss James Gershfield told JC Sport: "Hendon were far superior today. We started slowly and although after the first 15 minutes we started to control the game we didn't quite get a firm grip and four errors led to their goals all of which were taken very well."

New boy Danny Sherman salvaged a consolation for Camden.

Camden boss Stirling Kay told JC Sport: "There were a lot of positives in the second half considering we had to make a number of changes through to injuries and ended the game with 10 men."

DIVISION ONE

TEMPLE FORTUNE 3 LOS BLANCOS 5

Braces from Joe Davis and Zvi Freedman inspired Los Blancos to an impressive opening win over newly promoted Temple Fortune at Silver Jubilee Park.

Simon Moses completed the scoring on a memorable morning for the Blancos boys.

HIGHLIGHTS & ANALYSIS ON WHEN SUNDAY COMES

Jubilant Blancos joint-manager Joel Holder told JC Sport: "At times, we looked powerful, energetic and aggressive, but we will need to show these characteristics on a more consistent basis. We have a great group of lads here, the squad is well-balanced and I am confident that we will challenge for the title come the end of the season."

Fortune's goals came through Eshad Rahiv, Hayden Smith and Jason Lindsay and boss Simon Linden told JC Sport: "It was a poor performance from Fortune, we just didn't click and allowed Blancos to take control of the game and they deservedly won. I'm looking for a big response next week."

FC Team boss Mitch Young told JC Sport: "Decisions didn't go our way but the ref was not the reason we lost. There are a lot of games and we will bounce back very quickly next week."

HERTSWOOD VALE 2 REAL HENDON 2

Strikes from Josh Gorb and James Millet ensured a share of the spoils for Hertswood who were denied maximum points by a stunning 85th minute Real Hendon goal from player-manager Martin Smulovitch, his second of the game.

Hertswood joint-manager Jacob Emanuel told JC Sport: "Overall, I find myself disappointed. Not with the fact that we drew - to be honest it was a fair result, neither team did enough to win it and considering some of the big players we were missing, a draw against an experienced team isn't bad at all. The fact that we couldn't hold onto the victory with five to go is a killer...extremely reminiscent of last season."

Real assistant-manager Rafi Addlestone told JC Sport: "In the end, a fair result, with credit to both sides for the commitment and spirit their showed throughout the game."

NLR boss Sam Rose told JC Sport: "For me this was a perfectly executed game plan - I really couldn’t have asked more from the team."

Fortune boss Darren Zitren told JC Sport: "A disappointing result bearing in mind we went in goalless at half-time and conceded the first goal on 55th minute. We will be working hard in training this week and look to bounce back on Sunday."
