JC GOAL OF THE WEEK CONTENDERS

- ZACH COHEN (Mill Hill Dons) - sensational 25-yard free-kick

- BRAD GAYER (Fairlop FC) - top-class 40-yard lob put Fairlop 2-1 against Raiders A ... and had their fans dreaming

- GID CAPLIN (Temple Fortune B) - fired Fortune ahead with an excellent goal

-------------------------------

JC SAVE OF THE WEEK CONTENDERS

- RUSSELL CORIN (Hendon Utd) - dived across and down to the floor to save a point-blank header from three yards when Hendon were 2-1 up. It was a superb moment as he caught the ball low to his left at full stretch as it was heading into the net - while the Redbridge team and spectators were already half celebrating the goal. Another match-changing moment from an incredibly consistent vital player for the team

JC QUOTE OF THE WEEK CONTENDERS

- GREG CORIN (Hendon Utd) - "We take it game by game and we now can’t wait to face Oakwood next week which is a real six pointer. Hopefully we will have a number of players back available for this Sunday’s game and Moses Seitler with us"

- DAN SHAFRON (North London Raiders A) - "When it goes to penalties anything can happen and I’m delighted we managed to win that lottery. Fairlop will be gutted but they are a great group of boys and I’m sure if they play like they did today, they’ll go on to win their league and have plenty more success moving forward"

- AARON DIAS (Fairlop FC) - "I would like to make a special mention to two players who I'm not going to name, after extra-time they both put there hand up and said they wanted a penalty. Unfortunately it wasn't either of their days and they both failed to convert; at Fairlop we win and lose as a team and I can't speak highly enough of both these players work-rate and commitment throughout the game and season"

YOUR WEEKEND PREVIEW STARTS HERE:

FAIRLOP FC 2 NORTH LONDON RAIDERS A 2 (AET - Raiders won 4-3 on penalties)

North London Raiders needed penalties to overcome cup giantkillers Fairlop and edge into the semi-finals of the National Cup after one of the games of the season.

Alex Moss put Raiders ahead before Fairlop levelled via the penalty spot. With no further goals, the tie moved to extra-time, and a shock looked on the cards as Fairlop went 2-1 with a 30-yard thunderbolt. But Raiders equalised before holding their nerve to win the resultant shoot-out 4-3.

Relieved NLR boss Dan Shafron told JC Sport: "When it goes to penalties anything can happen and I’m delighted we managed to win that lottery. Fairlop will be gutted but they are a great group of boys and I’m sure if they play like they did today, they’ll go on to win their league and have plenty more success moving forward."

Proud Fairlop boss Aaron Dias told JC Sport: "We're are absolutely gutted to be out the cup but have no time to feel sorry for ourselves. The league was always the priority this season, with the cup run being a bonus. We have seven games left in the league, seven wins is the minimum I expect!"

REDBRIDGE JEWISH CARE A 4 HENDON UNITED SPORTS 6

ZAC LEWIS was the hat-trick hero as Hendon United returned to the top of the table after winning an extraordinary 10-goal thriller against Redbridge.

These teams have a habit of serving up a treat and this was a repeat of the recent cup game - of a couple of years ago - when the goals flowed ... and Hendon came away victorious. RJC led 1-0 but Hendon rallied superbly to make it 3-1 at the break. Dovi Fehler, Moses Seitler and captain Ari Last were Hendon's other scorers.

Football was the winner - once again - in a game where RJC didn't give up and despite being 5-1 down, they battle on valiantly, with Calvin Dickson, Kier Dickson, Elliot Black and Russell Goldstein registering for Redbridge.

Hendon player-manager Greg Corin told JC Sport: "This was a very important win for us in our pursuit of the league title. Redbridge - year after year - offer great competition and have a number of talented players. Today we dug in, missing key defensive members of the squad - and utilised our superb attacking talent to get a vital win."

A deadly double from Jake Gilbert helped Raiders B return to winning ways after producing a five-star show against Redbridge C. Further strikes from Elliot Espinoza, Ben Cherkas and Josh Green secured the points.

Lee Cutler and Darryl Green scored for Redbridge.

Jubilant NLR joint-manager Doron Salomon told JC Sport: "We conceded two poor goals and missed so many chances to make this a big statement victory but I can hardly complain when we've scored five goals away from home - it was an outstanding performance."

FC TEAM 4 MILL HILL DONS 6

A four-goal bonanza from ZACK COHEN inspired Mill Hill Dons to a thrilling victory after a titanic tussle against promotion rivals FC Team as they returned to the top of the table.

FC Team led 1-0, 2-1 and 3-2, but on each occasion the Dons responded, with Adam Isaacs and Harry Moss striking to ensure they returned to winning ways and remain in the mix for the title.

Mitch Young (2), Eddie Sternberg and own goal registered for FC Team.

Delighted Dons boss Brandon Hamme told JC Sport: "This could be a huge result come the end of the season and couldn’t be happier with the result."

FC Team player-manager Mitch Young told JC Sport: "It was a shame we had so many players missing today but well done to Mill Hill Dons - our sole focus is on retaining the Barry Goldstein Cup "

TEMPLE FORTUNE B 1 NORTH LONDON RAIDERS C 2

Goals from the evergreen Adam Leveson and Ben Kaye sealed Raiders C's seventh league win following a hard-fought victory over Temple Fortune B. Gid Caplin had fired Fortune in front.

NLR boss Sam Rose told JC Sport: "I was impressed with how the boys stood up for one another and drove us forward to win the game, even if they weren’t all playing in their preferred positions. We go to our final game of the season next week against Fairlop looking to give a really good account of ourselves.”

Fortune boss Darren Zitren told JC Sport; "It's gutting to lose but there were so many positives."
