Here are the star men from Matchday One of the MGBSFL.

articlemain

1. ADAM ZAIDMAN (Hertswood Vale) - "a great debut, pulling off some smart saves and constantly managing the back four with ease. Pulled off a stunning 85th minute penalty save to secure the points for the Vale"

2. SAMMY KINGSTON (HMH) - put in a tremendou shift and gave goalkeeper Shapiro ample protection. Was prepared to get in where it hurt. Commanding performance

3. BRANDON SASSOON (Jewdinese) - imperious performance at the back against Fairlop, packed with vital and well-timed interceptions and brave headers

4. JOSH CINNA (Mill Hill Dons) - "played the role of a modern day centre back to perfection. Looked comfortable with the ball at his feet, he also was very strong in the air, winning the vast majority of his aerial battles"

5. ADAM GOLD (Jewdinese) - rock solid. Fairlop tried everything to get through and behind the 'Nese defence, but Gold and co held firm

6. ADAM ABADI (HMH) - cometh the hour, cometh the man. Held his nerve to convert two first-half penalties before completing his hat-trick against the second half. Put the champions to the sword

7. NATE KASHKET (Redbridge JC A) - "an outstanding performance from the youngster, showed he is a real talent. Composed finish for the first goal, and a stunning free kick for his second. Just phenomenal

8. JAMES GOLD (ML Lions) - "tireless performance and did the simple things to perfection"

9. ZACH COHEN (Mill Hill Dons) - three clinical finishes and terrorised the FC Team defence

10. STEVE SUMMERS (Redbridge JC A) - "at 38, he is simply brilliant. The best hold-up player in Jewish football by a long way. Steve bullied the Raiders defence today, and deserved his standard lobbed goal. A breathtaking performance"

11. ADAM ELLIS (Bayern Mincha) - "unplayable as usual and we expect another sensational season. Could have had a hat-trick before he even scored his first goal. His goals were all different types of goals; from a corner, tap in and marauding run forward. He’s a match winner quite simply

MANAGER: Avi Goldberg (HMH)

STAR MAN: Adam Abadi (HMH)

REFEREE: Ricky Ansher (FC Team vs Mill Hill Dons)
