Sloppy Faithfold pay the penalty

Leaders Faithfold B saw their unbeaten record end at match six as they were edged out by Redbridge B, courtesy of an early strike from Steve Summers.

    Delighted RJC boss Richard Bronzite told JC Sport: "It was a great response after last week. I couldn’t have asked for more. Now we're looking forward to have the weekend off!"

    Faithfold player-manager Martin Smulovitch reflected on "a thoroughly disappointing trip to Essex.

    "After conceding an early penalty, we controlled the game and our keeper was rarely brought into action. We struggled, however, to create many clear-cut chances, which must be credited to the organisation of the experienced Redbridge team who sat back and hit us on the break.

    "We struck the bar and there were a few glaring misses and on another day the scoreline could have been very different.

    "We look forward to the rematch in West Hendon but must now focus on next weeks game against Scrabble and returning to winning ways."
