Delighted Oakwood boss Jason Stein told JC Sport: "Obviously we're very pleased to start our season with a convincing win.
"We played some fantastic football and the application and attitude was spot on.
“It couldn’t have been a better start and now the challenge is to keep that going.”
Scrabble manager Ray Abrahams told JC Sport: "We had a new look about us today with seven new players making their Scrabble debuts and three of our regular players who were not available for this game.
"To be honest we were well in the game for long periods and having conceded the first goal we we’re still hopeful of getting something out of the game with the score 0-1 as we went in for the break. The new sin bin rule took us down to 10 men in the latter stages of the first half.
"In the end Oakwood looked a fitter side than us and scored three second half goals to win 4-0 but the score flattered them at the end.
"We'll take a lot of positives from this game despite things going against us because a lot of the boys only met for the first time at the ground today.
"I can’t fault our effort as we gave everything against an established side who broke quickly for their goals but their backline wasn’t strong and we had enough chances to get ourselves back in the game after half-time.
"We will get better as the weeks go on and Division One will be a tough league this season with everyone capable of beating everyone else. Its early days and there will be a lot of twists and turns over the coming weeks.”
