Jubilant Lions boss Sam Marchant told JC Sport: "We had a few weeks off and I knew it would be interesting to see how the boys reacted.
"We started well and controlled the majority of the match. We showed patience and maturity all over the park and didn’t allow the opposition many chances at all.
"All in all it was a very solid performance and it is always lovely when you keep a clean sheet."
Bloom scored the goal of the game after Adam Abadi took down a 25-yard pass with perfect control on the edge of the box, beat a man and then performed a a Maradona-esque roulette past another player which turned into a through ball to Bloom who coolly slotted home with his left foot.
Marchant added: "Next week's game at home to the champions Oakwood we know will be a very different proposition but if we take many factors of today's game into that one, there is no reason why we can’t finish the game with the same result.
"I'm very happy with today but now our focus moves on."
