Dave Grossman was on target for the second week in a row as Team completed a league double over Fortune.
Fortune matched FC Team during the first half and restricted them to a couple of half-chances. Team went ahead via an own goal, but Fortune drew level deservedly when, after a spell of sustained pressure in Team’s half, the ball was switched from right to left and as the ball bounced on the edge of the penalty area, Simon Cohen, swiveled with his back to goal and unleashed an unstoppable left-footed half-volley into the top corner.
Team regained the upper hand from a set-piece early in the second half and the game got away from Fortune from there.
Victorious boss Mitch Young told JC Sport: "We were very average in the first half and although their A-team goalkeeper kept them in it with a number of fine saves we didn't feel too aggreived to be drawing at the break.
"We completely dominated in the second half and it was a sound performance in the end.
"We had four substitutes for the first time in a long time and managed to give everyone decent game time so that was also pleasing. Credit to fortune who put in a good shift."
Fortune joint-manager Steven Black told JC Sport; "It was a bitterly disappointing loss to take.
"We take a lot of heart from the performance because we displayed a fight, desire and determination which has not been evident against the so-called ‘bigger teams’ this season.
"Credit to FC Team where it’s due; they play their game in the right way and they are an enjoyable bunch to play against. We wish them well for the rest of the campaign."
Black described Cohen's strike as "one of the best goals I have ever witnessed in Jewish football".
