Green goddess nutrient-packed smoothie

This smoothie is great for balancing sugar cravings

articlemain

This smoothie is great for balancing sugar cravings, uplifting the mood, clearing the head, boosting metabolism and strengthening immunity. SuperLife Superfood Smoothie Mix is a combination of eight raw superfoods that gives you an energy boost for the entire day: hemp, which is rich in protein and omega-3s; maca, which helps energy, focus and memory, and is an aphrodisiac; lucuma, to balance sugar levels for lasting energy; cacao - high in magnesium, and aids energy and mood; spirulina - an anti-inflammatory that strengthens the joints; chlorella - which strengthens the immune system, and helps remove toxins; kelp - which is high in iodine, and balances thyroid; and barley grass, which is high in chlorophyll, alkalises the body and helps with weight loss.

If you cannot find SuperLife Superfood Smoothie Mix then substitute it with maca powder, which is available from most health food shops.

● 1 kiwi
● ½ avocado
● ½ cucumber, peeled and cut into chunks
● 1 large banana, frozen if you prefer your smoothies ice cold
● 2cm ginger, peeled and grated
● 400ml apple juice
● 1 large handful curly kale, stalks removed or spinach
● 1 bunch of fresh coriander
● 1 tbsp SuperLife Superfood Smoothie Mix or maca powder
● A couple of ice cubes if you are using fresh bananas

Garnish
● Cucumber slices
● Fresh coriander

Method

● Peel and slice the kiwi fruit, avocado, cucumber and your banana if not already frozen.

● Divide between two tall glasses or mason jars and serve right away, or you can keep refrigerated, for one day.
