Easy Oreo ice cream

Perfect on a hot, lazy day.

articlemain

I call this ice cream a "cheating" ice cream as it is so easy to prepare and requires very little work. Perfect on a hot, lazy day. You can make it dairy or parev - whatever suits. Use the larger sized tub of ice cream to feed more people. You can find parev Oreos in kosher shops.

For health and safety reasons you should never refreeze melted ice cream, so don't let the ice cream melt completely when you are making this dessert.

Serves: 6-8

Ingredients

● 400g or 750ml vanilla ice cream (dairy or parev)
● 150g Oreo biscuits

Method

● Take the ice cream from the freezer and set it aside to soften up enough to spoon into a bowl.

● In a large bowl crush the biscuits into small pieces but not too finely so you still have some larger lumps for a crunchy texture.

● Reserve 50g of the crushed biscuits for decoration.

● Empty the softened ice cream tub into the bowl and mix well with the biscuits.

● Pour into a serving bowl and add the remaining crushed biscuits on top of the serving bowl.

● Return the ice cream to the freezer immediately.
