Jonathan Erlich's heroic run at Wimbledon ended at the semi-final stage after he and Philipp Petzschner were beaten in a four-set thriller on Centre Court on Thursday night.
The pair came through the qualifiers before mounting an excellent run in the Men's Singles but their hopes were shattered by Jamie Murray and John Peers.
A shock looked on the cards early on as Erlich and Petzschner took the first set against the competition's 13th seeds, but in a cruel twist of fate their hopes were hampered when Erlich suffered a knee injury.
Murray and Peers rallied superbly to win the second set 6-3 before going on to win the match 6-4, 6-2.
They will play Dutchman Jean-Julien Roger and Romanian Horia Tecau in Saturday's final.
Murray, whose brother Andy is playing Roger Federer in the Men's Singles semi-finals tomorrow, admitted after the match that Erlich's injury boosted their chances.
He said: "We got off to a slow start, especially me. We were helped out by Erlich struggling but we had to put it out of our minds.
"This is our third year together, quite a long time in doubles. We are getting our rewards and we are excited to be here.
"It will be a great match for Andy tomorrow, they have played so many times and I am sure tomorrow will be no different."
