A former England international, Williams helped Arsenal Ladies to the domestic treble twice. She has also managed the Wales Women’s national team, and has held roles at Watford and with the Hertfordshire Schools FA Head Coach for Girls Under 14 and Under 16.

Having earned 20 England caps, Williams was part of the 1995 World Cup squad to reach the quarter-finals in Sweden.

Williams said: “It is my time living abroad that gave me an interest in travelling and meeting people from different cultures and countries which is exactly what the Maccabi Youth Games are all about.

“I think this is a big factor in getting involved with MGB when the opportunity arose. I am hugely looking forward to meeting the rest of the delegation and players and to experience life in a country I have not visited before.

“I hope the players have an experience of a lifetime and that they leave feeling they have had fun, developed as players and grown as people.”

Maccabi GB Head of Sport Neil Taylor said: “We are delighted to have a coach of this pedigree involved with MGB. Her exceptional calibre we hope will have an effect not only on the Girls Football squad but the Great Britain delegation as a whole.”
