JC CYRIL ANEKSTEIN CUP ROUND THREE
SOUTHGATE HARMEN A 1 NORTH LONDON RAIDERS B 0

A solitary effort from summer signing Craig Ellis helped Harmen A edge the all-Premier Division encounter against Raiders B in Enfield.

Harmen manager Dan Uzan told JC Sport: "It's been a tough month or two for Harmen with injuries. We went into this game without Ziggy Lichman or Matt Davis to play in goal, so Jon Morris, for the second week running, stepped in and did excellently.

"Then, after only five minutes, James Stanley picked up a hamstring injury and had to come off. With our two subs stuck on the M1, we played for 30 minutes with 10 men and defended really well.

"As soon as the boys turned up and we got our 11th man on the game turned, and Craig Ellis immediately scored his first goal for the club - neatly placing the ball in to the bottom corner having beaten the offside trap.

"I still believe we will be a much stronger team in the second half of the season, but until we have our players back from injury, the likes of Nick Gold, Alan Hart and Ben Murrell, we will need to put in more performances like yesterday - a lot of determination and passion."

Raiders boss Rob Richman told JC Sport: "We weren't at the races, and Harmen thoroughly deserved the win.

"It's disappointing as with some of the teams knocked out, we feel we could have had a chance to challenge for the cup, but it wasn't to be today."
