FA VASE FIRST QUALIFYING ROUND
BURNHAM RANGERS 2 LONDON LIONS 1

Andy Landesberg was left scratching his head at how his side exited the FA Vase in the first qualifying round at Burnham after dominating the contest.

Lions simply could not find the goals to match their play, and even Austin Lipman failed from the penalty spot when a goal may well have set Lions on their way to a comprehensive win.

Soon after Burnham took the lead, and then doubled it with 20 minutes to go.

Lipman then pulled one back as Lions piled on the pressure, but somehow Burnham ended up through to the next round.

Lions boss Landesberg said: "Even the referee said he couldn’t believe the result, but it’s a lesson to us that we need to be more clinical.

"Whilst it would have been nice to have gone through a few rounds of this competition, we return to league action next week and aim to put it right."
