Adam Warner completed his preparations for the Fina Masters World Championships in Russia by winning a 3k in Marlow.
The 2013 Maccabiah Games star made a flying start on the 1,500m circuit that the swimmers completed twice. He was soon caught up by two members of the chasing pack and he eased up slightly to sit behind them and conserve his energy.
It was not until the end of the first lap where Warner pushed ahead. He maintained his advantage and touched home first after a sprint finish.
Warner said: "I am delighted to have come away with a win at my final preparation competition. This has given me great confidence going into Russia.
"I really wanted to win this race, to boost my chances in the Masters World Championships. That is it now, just a few more weeks of training and then it is time to race.
"I want to thank everyone who has supported me up to this point and hopefully I can bring a medal back for GBR, and even the Jewish people."
