Manager Steinberg and his assistant Steve Gordon are excited with the progress the squad has made over the past six months and feel confident in their pursuit of a gold medal in Budapest.

Speaking about the selection process, Steinberg said: “The squad consists of boys from various clubs and areas including London, Leeds and Dublin and in the training, they have experienced playing against high quality opposition with away games against Brighton and Hove Albion and Lincoln FC, whom they beat 4-2.”

The team is captained by Ethan Kessel with Opening Ceremony flag-bearer, Ben Schwarzmann as vice-captain. Speaking about their choice of captains and their aims for the squad as a whole, Gordon said: “Ethan and Ben’s motivation, commitment and consistent high standards of performance have set the bar for the rest of the squad and we feel the entire squad have what it takes to come home with a medal.”

Steinberg added: “We are honoured to have been given this opportunity and hope the preparations, build up and the tournament are an experience the boys will cherish forever.”
