The lights go out on Maccabi reps

articlemain

The JC MSFL Rep Team crashed out of the London Inter-League Cup competition after losing 3-1 against North London & South Herts League in Enfield.

Having lost their opening fixture 2-0 against the Turkish Federation League, Maccabi went into the game knowing that only a win would keep them alive in the competition. Tony Gold, the former Rep Team boss who led the team to their only success in the competition, put the visitors ahead but the team found themselves 2-1 down at the break. Gold had a second-half free-kick ruled out for encroachment before the hosts scored a third.

Maccabi boss Jonathan Kestenbaum said: “The new boys in the squad have shown promise but ultimately we are judged on results so are disappointed.”
