Muswell Hill teenager Theo Symons brought home three silver medals from his first international martial arts competition.
The 15-year-old Yavneh College pupil represented his country at the European Chin-Woo forms championship in Berlin, where competitors went through a series of pre-determined routines.
They were judged on how they performed the exercises in the routines, how they presented themselves and even how they addressed the judges.
It was the first time the sport has held a European competition, with eight teams from four countries taking part.
He won his medals in the men’s under-18 section of three different disciplines. The team as a whole brought back 13 medals, including five golds.
Theo is a member of the Barnet-based Northern Shaolin System Kung Fu club, which practices the traditional Wu-shu school of Chinese martial arts.
He said: "I am so proud to have won these medals. It was a fantastic experience to have competed for my country."
