HENDON UNITED SPORTS CLUB A vs REDBRIDGE JEWISH CARE A
Sunday is D-day for Redbridge Jewish Care A and Oakwood A. The destiny of the title will be confirmed - Oakwood can only look on helplessly, hoping that Hendon do them a favour, and Redbridge blow their chance. Only a win will do for Jon Jacobs' men, but their tails are up again after the nail-biting win over last season's champions Raiders A.
Hendon boss David Garbacz was schlepping nachas this week after his son, Oliver, got engaged. Big mazels from everyone at the JC. Garbacz senior had a major falling out with Jacobs last year, but they kissed and made up and it will be handshakes all around - win, lose or draw.
It's unusual for Hendon not to have anything to play for at this time of season, but rest assured they won't roll out the red carpet treatment for Redbridge. Yes they have been hit hard by injuries this season and some of their players might be thinking about their summer holidays, but not goalkeeper Russ Corin and Avi Korman, who are dreaming about the forthcoming Maccabiah Games.
Ahead of kick-off, Garbacz told JC Sport; "There is no doubt that it has hurt us not being involved in the glamour end of the season matches this year, after falling away badly in the second half of the season.
"We now have an opportunity to show that we are not a spent force just yet, and we will be going absolutely all out to get a result against the possible champions elect.
"For us it makes no difference who wins the league - it's not us so it doesn't bother me, but on Sunday we will have our own agenda to win this game - it will be my last game as manager - this year there will be no turning back. I would love to go out on a high.
"We will make sure we give absolutely everything so as to ensure the full integrity of the league.
"Yes we have injuries, yes we have a limited squad but I can absolutely assure Ric, Dan and the whole Oakwood team that if Redbridge win this league it won't be through any lack of effort on our part."
Redbridge know what they have to do in order to be crowned champions. Simple as that. I know I said a few weeks ago I thought that Oakwood have done enough, but Redbridge have gone about their business in a meticulous manner and I will be surprised if they don't go on to win it now.
RJC boss Jon Jacobs told JC Sport: "We have one more game to turn good into spectacular. We are determined to take that chance."
It's likely to be Dean Nyman's MGBSFL swansong, and I expect him to bow out in style.

RC UK FC vs REDBRIDGE JEWISH CARE C
RC UK FC go in search of their fifth consecutive win ahead of their final game of the season against nearest rivals Redbridge C.
Avi Markiewicz's men have been scoring for fun in recent weeks, with several players chipping in.
Revenge is the name of the game on Sunday as they look to wipe out the 1-0 defeat against their east London counterparts in January, when they were sunk by a solitary effort from Jimmy Castle.
Maximum points would see RC UK finish eight points clear of Josh Hambling's men for whom the end of the season cannot come soon enough.
They had a fantastic first half, but critics are saying they peaked too soon.
