JC GOAL OF THE WEEK CONTENDERS:

- SIMON ENGLANDER (Hertswood Vale) - Vale's answer to Claude Makelele, slamming home an absolute wonder goal from 35 yards to net his first goal in three seasons. The ball dropped to him from a corner and Simon absolutely smashed a half volley into the top corner, leaving the Raiders keeper helpless. Trust me people, it's not one to be missed and has to absolutely be this week's Champagne moment!! Goal of the season so far - no doubt about it. I don't remember celebrating an Arsenal goal that much in a long time

- SAM MODLIN (Oakwood B) - Ben Annis cut down to the left wing and chipped the ball into the box. Modlin did really well to get his left foot over the ball and steer a half volley into the goal

- SIMON COHEN (Temple Fortune B) - after a spell of sustained pressure in Team’s half, the ball was switched from right to left and as the ball bounced on the edge of the penalty area. Cohen, swiveled with his back to goal and unleashed an unstoppable left-footed half-volley into the top corner. The technique was utterly incredible and it was one of the best goals we have witnessed in many years of Jewish football

JC SAVE OF THE WEEK CONTENDERS:

- DAN LEE (Redbridge JC A) - brilliant block with his feet to deny Josh Cuby

JC QUOTE OF THE WEEK CONTENDERS:

- AARON DIAS (Fairlop FC) - "The lads know the performance wasn’t good enough, but even the Jewish Barcelona can have an off day"

- RAY ABRAHAMS (Scrabble FC) - "We had two Scrabble legends playing for us today in Adam Solomons and Tony Gold. The atmosphere in the club is still great and there is a great camaraderie and determination to finish the season strongly in the league and to have a good Cup run in the Supplementary Cup which starts for us in two weeks time"

- DAN KRISTALL (Oakwood A) - "Twelve months ago in our title decider and at the last minute, Redbridge themselves switched us from this pitch at Fairlop to a massive local 3G round the corner. This year they didn't which to me speaks volumes for how they saw the game going"

YOUR WEEKEND REVIEW STARTS HERE:

PETER MORRISON TROPHY ROUND THREE

HAROLDEANS 1 LOS BLANCOS 0

Maxim Green helped Haroldeans move into round four after edging past first division Los Blancos 1-0.

Haroldeans boss Mike Bloomberg told JC Sport: "It was hard fought cup tie in difficult conditions. We had to battle hard to progress. At times we were hanging on in second-half but we dug in. We were indebted to an outstanding performance by 16-year-old Jared Clein in goal."

DC Prediction: Haroldeans 2 Blancos 1

MGBSFL PREMIER DIVISION

REDBRIDGE JEWISH CARE A 1 OAKWOOD A 1

A goal from Steve Summers frustrated leaders Oakwood as they were finished all square with Redbridge A at Fairlop.

RJC joint-manager Jon Jacobs told JC Sport: "It was a good game on a difficult and muddy pitch, but on reflection a fair result. After a difficult last few weeks for the club, today was all about the squad standing up and playing for each other and being a solid group."

Oaks co-boss Dan Kristall told JC Sport: "The pitch and conditions were atrocious and really levelled the game up. It restricted us playing our fast-flowing attacking football. Our injury list mounts with two enforced changes before the 20-minute mark to join the big-hitters in the treatment room. If we'd had a couple of those guys, I am confident we would have had too much for Redbridge."

HENDON UNITED SPORTS 7 BRADY MACCABI 1

DOVI FEHLER was the hat-trick hero as Hendon moved a point clear at the top after finishing in seventh heaven against Brady at Hadley FC.

Zac Lewis (2), Rafi Kon and Ari Last added the gloss as Hendon secured their sixth win in seven matches.

Top-scorer Reiss Mogilner snatched a consolation for Brady.

Jubilant Hendon boss Greg Corin told JC Sport: "It was an off-day for Brady and I’m sure will be a very different test for us when we play the return fixture and meet them in the next round of the cup."

DC Prediction: Hendon 2 Brady 0

MACCABI LONDON LIONS BLUE 1 NORTH LONDON RAIDERS A 3

Two goals from Josh Green plus a penalty from Joe Cohen ensured Raiders returned to winning ways with a much-needed 3-1 win over Lions Blue at Rowley Lane.

NLR boss Dan Shafron told JC Sport: "It was a good overall team performance. We worked hard all over the pitch and showed great character coming back from 1-0 down."

DIVISION ONE

OAKWOOD B 3 SCRABBLE FC 0

Ben Feingold, Sam Modlin and Daniel Seligman kept Oakwood B in touch with the top two as they proved too strong for Scrabble.

Proud Oaks boss Jason Stein told JC Sport: “We are pleased to do the double over Scrabble who are historically a tough opponent.”

Paying tribute to "Scrabble legends Adam Solomons and Tony Gold, who featured, disappointed Scrabble boss Ray Abrahams told JC Sport: "We were second best today in the areas where it really mattered but Oakwood are a good side and deserved to win the game on the day."

DC Prediction: Oakwood 4 Scrabble 0

DIVISION TWO

BAYERN MINCHA 3 STRAW HAT PIRATES 1

Two more goals from goal machine Adam Ellis plus one from joint-player-manager Alon Pinhas saw Bayern Mincha finish the weekend in top spot after beating the Pirates 3-1.

Bayern co-boss Daniel Holder told JC Sport: "We have a lot to thank Joe Nyman for the three points and what a huge three points it was to keep pressure on the Dons with the massive game against them next week."

MATCH REPORT

DC Prediction: Bayern 3 Pirates 1

FAITHFOLD B 1 FAIRLOP FC 5

DANIEL GARFINKLE (4) propelled Fairlop FC into the top four on his return to the team as the east Londoners overpowered Faithfold at the Hive.

David Leiwy fired a consolation for Faithfold.

Fairlop boss Aaron Dias told JC Sport; "After last week's heroic performance, we knew today wouldn’t be as easy as everyone thought; Faithfold brought a few players down from the A’s which made for a good game, but in truth once the first goal went in after about 15 minutes the game was never in doubt."

MATCH REPORT

DC Prediction: Faithfold 0 Fairlop 7

--------------------

FC TEAM 4 TEMPLE FORTUNE B 1

Richard Salmon fired a deadly double and Dave Grossman one as FC Team kept the pressure on the top two with a handsome 4-1 win over Temple Fortune B.

FC Team player-manager Mitch Young told JC Sport: "We were very average in the first half and although their A-team goalkeeper kept them in it with a number of fine saves, We didn't feel too aggreived to be drawing at the break but completely completely dominated and it was a sound performance in the end. Credit to Fortune who put in a good shift."

Fortune had levelled with a wonder strike from Simon Cohen and joint-manager Steven Black told JC Sport: "We take a lot of heart from the performance because we displayed a fight, desire and determination which has not been evident against the so called ‘bigger teams’ this season."

MATCH REPORT

DC Prediction: FC Team 5 Fortune 1

HERTSWOOD VALE 2 NORTH LONDON RAIDERS C 3

North London Raiders C ended a four-match losing streak thanks to an 85th minute winner at the Ark, thanks to goals from Alex Goodman and David Esterkin (2).

A goal of the season contender from Simon Englander from 35 yards plus one from Josh Gorb looked to have earned Vale a point.

Vale joint-manager Jacob Emanuel told JC Sport: "Ultimately today was points dropped. But we go again and look to get a result against Straw Hat Pirates next week."
