JC GOAL OF THE WEEK: THE CONTENDERS
- AARON LUFTIG (RC UK FC) - scored his first-ever league goal after twisting and turning two men tight in the area and scoring high into the net
- ADAM WATERS (Scrabble FC) - cut inside from the right and hit a ferocious bending pile-driver beyond the reach of the Lions keeper from 25 yards out
- JORDAN SHARIFIAN (Temple Fortune) - his third goal of the season contender hit a volley 25 yards out after a great ball from Gavin Levy
- RICHARD FOGELMAN (Faithfold B) - injury-time half-pitch sprint was something to behold. Who said Fogey is ready for Masters?
- LORIAN MADANES (FC Team A) - stunning free-kick in to the top left corner
- LUKE STRAUSS (Los Blancos) - 30-yard free-kick. Goalie didn't move. Nuff said
- JOHN KAY (L'Equipe) - after falling behind 3-2, L'Equipe got back into the game in the 87th minute with an equaliser, but of course it wasn’t over, not when John Kay is around, sprinkled in with the fact that it was his birthday meant that magic was always possible. A long goal-kick was flicked on by Mark Smith, the fans were on the edge of the seat confused as to why Kay didn’t flick it on, it landed at Andy Smith's feet who played the ball forward and there he was bearing down on goal. Tim Lovejoy appeared out of nowhere to state don’t worry its only Jon Kay but they haven’t met 2016 Jon Kay, scorer of five in five and L'Equipe legend award winner 2015. He was composed and he play hit the ball in that perfect sweet spot at the end of his boot into the top corner giving the keeper no chance whatsoever to steal the points
- SAM KANTER (Finchley City) - stunning 25-yard volley into the top right hand corner
- SAMUEL DEANER (Athletic Bilbaum) - rifled a shot into the top corner from outside the area after a Jacob Brunner lay-off
-----------------------------------
-----------------------------------
JC SAVE OF THE WEEK: THE CONTENDERS
- NATI KIND (RC UK FC) - a 35-yard driven lob seemed destined for the back of then net and for the second week in a row Kind back peddled and got his fingertips to the goal bound shot and tip in onto the bar and out
- SCOTT SHEAR (Redbridge B) - SAVE 1- a weak back-pass was raced onto by the Raiders striker, with RJC B keeper retreating back, he made himself look so big, and produced a "world-class" save with his feet, ensuring the scorelined remained 1-0 to NLR B, a pinnacle moment in the match
- SCOTT SHEAR (Redbridge B) - SAVE2 - a counter-attack by NLR B saw a flood of players pushed forward, the ball was crossed to back post where a curling effort from 12 yards was destined for the top corner , and Shear somehow got fingertips to the ball to tip it round the post. Absolutely amazing from the RJC B keeper to keep the scores 2-1 to RJC B

JC QUOTE OF THE WEEK: THE CONTENDERS
- AVI MARKIEWICZ (RC UK FC) – “In the week leading up to the game we were very worried we wouldn't be able to put a team out with key players Jonti Aremband, Avi Mocton and Yisroel Lewis all unavailable. This would have been a major downer after such a fantastic result last week. We managed to make a few late Thursday night signings so in the end had three subs and they slotted into the team seamlessly. Every player had time off utilising the rotation system to perfection”
- SIMON LINDEN (Temple Fortune) - "When you have players like Jordan there's always going to be chances, he can create out of nothing and did exactly that with three great goals, the first a contender for goal of the season"
- SAM MARCHANT (Lions B) - “In my year and a half of managing this side, today is the first time I can safely say we were outclassed. The team knew what this game meant for the season ahead, yet the determination and passion was non-existent. You can have the greatest footballers in the world, but if they’re not hungry to win, they will always be outfought by their opposition"
- DAVID GARBACZ (Hendon A) - "I’m pleased for the likes of Josh Bentley and Russell and congratulations to Alex Levack, who I thought was brilliant today and ran the game. I hope they go far in this competition and obviously we wish them all the best for the big prize next summer. If they continue to play like they did they will have a great chance of gold"
- DAN KRISTAL (Oakwood A) - "For now, we hang in there and with no cup distraction and Hendon to play twice in the new year, don't go writing us off just yet"

YOUR WEEKEND REVIEW STARTS HERE:
PETER MORRISON TROPHY ROUND THREE
MACCABI LONDON LIONS MASTERS 1 HENDON UNITED SPORTS CLUB A 0 (After extra-time)
Lions Masters ended Hendon United monopoly of the Jewish FA Cup thanks to an extra-time strike from Hendon old boy and super-sub Saul Conway.
Hendon manager David Garbacz admitted the best team had won. He told JC Sport: "The whole squad, including myself, cannot remember ever coming off a pitch so incredibly disappointed to lose a game. We put our bodies on the line for 120 minutes against a very good Masters team and to come away with a defeat was devastating. They were supposed to be the ones with the fitness problems but we finished the game like the walking wounded as Simon Peterman Alex Rosenthal Zac Lewis and Yoav Lebens all picked up bad injuries and it is a good thing the Chanukah break is around the corner to patch up the wounds."
DC Prediction: Lions 1 Hendon 2

SPEC FC 3 FC TEAM A 7
A fabulous four-goal salvo from CONNOR PERL eased FC Team A into the fourth round of the Jewish FA Cup as they finished in seventh heaven against SPEC FC.
Adam Rones (2) plus one from Lorian Madanes added the gloss in the all-Premier Division encounter.
FC Team's Jonny Pearl told JC Sport: "It was a very pleasing result today and a really good team performance. They just couldn't cope with the movement and finishing of Connor, who terrorised them non-stop. Add to that a stunning all-round, man-of-the=match display by Ronesy and we were pretty much in control and dominant throughout.
"Credit to them as well though, as they didn't ever give up and scored 3 really good goals. Finally, I just want to give a shout out to the ref, Richard Jaye, who was superb."
DC Prediction: SPEC 1 FC Team 2

HMH 4 MACCABI MASTERS REP TEAM 0
A deadly double from Dan Hardoun eased HMH into the hat for the next round after they easily disposed of the Masters Rep Team.
Further efforts from Dom Feldman and Clark Norton added the gloss for the Highgate boys.

BRADY MACCABI 1 OAKWOOD A 2
Oakwood are back in title contention after coming from a goal down to beat Brady at Rowley Lane. An injury-time from Jonny Quinn following excellent work from Dave Woolman sealed the points.
The visitors equalised on half-time after a Rafi Stone corner found Dale Bradman on his own in the area to level the match.
Oaks joint-manager Dan Kristall told JC Sport: "Ultimately, we took the points and after the disappointment of last week, that was our main target. We made several changes and welcomed back some key players. We also introduced two new signings in Ben Lauffer and Leor Sidle.
It is never easy blending in new players and yesterday we had a handful of players that had never met each other. I am confident in time, that we will get stronger as we play more football together as a group.
"In a tough match and on a difficult surface at Rowley Lane, we just about did enough to secure the points. In all honesty, we could have been 5-1 up at half-time but we were extremely wasteful with some excellent opportunities. Our decision-making and finishing must improve.
"I think that was the key moment in the game as requiring two goals up the hill and into the sun in the second half may have been too big an ask.
"Our general play lacked some aggression at times and Brady looked a threat on the break throughout the game. Especially with the ever dangerous Mogilner.
"For the first time in several weeks, we were able to freshen up as we had 15 players to choose from. I actually think that contributed to us finding another gear in the last 10 minutes. In previous weeks and especially last week, we have been unable to turn to the bench.
"We stuck to our task as we have done a few times this season and we were patient. We have a massive game next week away at a very strong Lions side where you never know what 11 they are going to put out.
"For now, we hang in there and with no cup distraction and Hendon to play twice in the new year, don't go writing us off just yet."
DC Prediction: Brady 1 Oakwood 3

MGBSFL chairman David Wolff has led the tributes to former Oakwood player Rob Davidson. Wolff said: “It is with great sadness that I have to report to you that Rob Davidson, a 34-year-old from Leeds who was diagnosed with Motor Neurone Disease passed away at the weekend.
"He was a player for Oakwood and I am sure everyone will join with me to wish his wife and all the other mourners ‘Long Life’ and to convey our condolences to the Oakwood club.”

MACCABI LONDON LIONS A 3 REDBRIDGE JEWISH CARE A 2
Former leaders Redbridge A saw their title hopes take a blow as they were edged out by Lions thanks to goals from Max Kyte, Harry Marlow and an own goal.
RJC’s goals came via Daniel Garfinkle and Russell Goldstein.
After seeing his team beaten by an 85th minute winner, RJC boss Jon Jacobs told JC Sport: "The game deserved to end up all square but we have to take defeat on the chin and keep going. I couldn’t ask for any more from my boys but just didn’t have enough cover today when we really needed it."
DC Prediction: Lions 1 RJC 1

NORTH LONDON RAIDERS A 6 WOODFORD WANDERERS 0
Two goals from David Dinkin inspired Raiders A to their fourth win of the season as they hit Woodford for six.
Matt Stock, David Cohen, Josh Morris and Adam Gold completed the rout for the defending champions.
NLR boss Dan Shafron told JC Sport: "This was a good result and I’m happy for the boys. We had to utilise the squad and make a few changes and I was very pleased with how well we adapted to a slightly different system. It was a dominant display with some excellent football played and good team goals scored."
DC Prediction: Raiders 4 Woodford 0

DIVISION ONE
HENDON UNITED SPORTS CLUB B 2 FINCHLEY CITY 7
Four goals from super-sub JONO GAON put Finchley City in seventh heaven as they finished the weekend in second place after crushing Hendon B.
Gaon enjoyed a dream debut, with Ariel Weinstein, Sam Leader and Sam Kanter sealing the win.
Finchley boss Joel Holder told JC Sport: "The boys were superb today and fully-deserved the win. We came out the blocks quickly and looked dangerous every time we went forward. Two of arguably our best players of the season in Oli Sade and Daniel Polak were unavailable today which shows the depth of quality we have throughout the squad.
"Our finishing today was top draw. Jono Gaon on his Finchley debut was unplayable and showed everyone a master-class in finishing. We bossed the midfield and were breathtaking going forward.
"Confidence is high at the moment, but we are just focusing on each game as it comes. It's going to be a massive test against Scrabble next week but one we are all looking forward to."
Hendon joint-manager Jono Nesbitt told JC Sport: "It was a shame that we only started playing football in the second half - it meant we were able to keep the scoreline into single digits which didn't look likely after the first half an hour, but the game was over and we didn't have a chance of getting back in it."
DC Prediction: Hendon 1 Finchley 4

BRIXTON OLD BOYS 2 ATHLETIC BILBAUM 7
Three goals from BENJAMIN BELL saw Athletic Bilbaum put clear daylight between themselves and fellow strugglers Brixton with a big victory in this relegation six-pointer.
Bell scored the opener after latching on to a through-ball from Jacob Brunner and took it round the keeper before finishing from a seemingly impossible angle with his left foot.
For his second goal, a defensive mix-up saw the ball run loose to Bell, who slotted in from the edge of the box. To complete his hat-trick, a ball over the top saw Bell run on to it from 40 yards out, head it onwards and out-sprint the defence before rounding the keeper for another tight angled finish.
Samuel Deaner scored the fourth, where he rifled it into the top corner from outside the area, after a Jacob Brunner lay-off.
Adding to his 2 assists, Jacob Brunner scored a brace, with both from close range before Nick Shinder added a seventh in the dying moments.
A statement from the Bilbaum management told JC Sport: “It was a strong display and good to be back among the goals. We have struggled with attendance in the last few weeks and so we hope to bring this renewed commitment to Hendon on Sunday."
DC Prediction: Brixton 0 Bilbaum 2
-------------------------------
-------------------------------
OAKWOOD B 2 LOS BLANCOS 3
Nick Grosse breathed a big sigh of relief as Los Blancos ended their poor run with a hard-earned win over Oakwood, with Avi Kestenbaum, Luke Strass and Joel Kutner grabbing the goals.
Rafi Bloom and Aaron Searle accounted for the Oakwood goals who led 1-0 and 2-1.
Blancos' Joel Minsky told JC Sport: "After a tough run of results, we're thrilled to have eventually got a result that our performances of late have deserved - it's just a shame now that the Chanukah break is shortly upon us."
Oaks boss Jason Stein told JC Sport: "It wasn't a great day at the office today for Oakwood. We're going through a tough moment and confidence is low. We started the game well abut our old friend 'set-pieces' came back at us today. Fair play to Blancos who defended well today and stayed organised but we just did not play well enough or pass the ball well enough to break them down.
"I know we're better than the football we are playing but there is no doubt that right now we are suffering from some complacency, poor decision making and basic mental errors at set pieces. We need to pick ourselves up quickly before a hard game against Redbridge next week."
DC Prediction: Oakwood 3 Blancos 2
-------------------------------
-------------------------------
REDBRIDGE JEWISH CARE B 3 NORTH LONDON RAIDERS B 1
Redbridge extended their perfect league record with an impressive 3-1 win over promotion rivals Raiders B, with player-manager Sam Rank, Brad Gayer and Kane Hopps firing them to a sixth consecutive victory.
Will Ufland grabbed a consolation for NLR who suffered their second league defeat.
Delighted RJC boss Sam Rank told JC Sport: "Today's performance was not the greatest, but the last 30 minutes saw the boys produce the football we know we can play. We owe Scott Shear a big drink after the saves he has made today. We move onto next week again against Oakwood B determined to keep the 100 per cent record going. The fitness levels from the boys was brilliant today , which shows the effort you put into training pay dividends on the pitch on Sunday."
"Full credit to NLR B, they are a great club, and I hope they will be taking some points of our title rivals during the second half of the season, we wish them good luck for the rest of the season."
DC Prediction: RJC 2 NLR 2
-------------------------------
-------------------------------
SCRABBLE FC 6 MACCABI LONDON LIONS B 2
Josh Pugh and Danny Sherman fired doubles as Scrabble FC moved to within three points of league leaders Lions B.
Adam Waters and Josh Bharier finished the job as Ray Abrahams’ men made a big statement of intent.
Jubilant Scrabble boss Ray Abrahams told JC Sport: "We were magnificent today and had 13 heroes who all played their part in this win.But after going 3-0 up as we did at Rowley Lane earlier in the season my boys were determined not to let Lions back in this time.
"When Ben Law was sent off we could have collapsed but such is the spirit in this squad that we reorganised ourselves and we took the game to Lions. To lose one of the best goalkeepers in the league with 35 minutes left was a huge blow for us but in response we dominated all over the pitch and grew in confidence as the game went on."
Lions boss Sam Marchant told JC Sport: “In my year and a half of managing this side, today is the first time I can safely say we were outclassed. The team knew what this game meant for the season ahead, yet the determination and passion was non-existent. You can have the greatest footballers in the world, but if they’re not hungry to win, they will always be outfought by their opposition.
"The last couple of months have brought some difficult results for us to take, and we are in a low-patch. It does happen to all teams at times and we just need to crawl our way out of it. The December break couldn’t come at a better time for us now and we can rethink our plans going forward. There’s no reason why we still can’t be fighting for promotion come the end of the season but todays result has certainly made that a lot harder to achieve. I must say Scrabble were superb today, especially their midfield trio who were up-and-down the pitch the whole game and very hard to deal with."
Prediction: Scrabble 1 Lions 1
-------------------------------

DIVISION TWO
BOCA JEWNIORS 0 FC TEAM B 3
Adam Newsome rolled back the years as FC Team B secured a much-needed win at the expense of Boca.
Newsome fired home from close range to cement FC Team’s second win, with Eddie Sternberg adding two more.
There has been a change of regime at FC Team after Ben Gilbey and Mike Myers left the club last week and a number of players have departed. Mitch Young spent most of Tuesday recruiting players and brought back several former players. David Gordon will manage for the rest of the season.
Gordon told JC Sport: "I must say congratulations to the boys. Big changes have taken place this week and most of the boys have come in having not played for years in some cases, and put in a solid well-rounded performance.
"We were never troubled by Boca, despite what they have said post-match, and I didn’t have a single noteworthy shot to save. Defensively we were fantastic even though three of the four defenders were only drafted in this week. Ahead of them the midfield was solid and created some good chances and up top we were clinical and thoroughly deserved to win the game. The attitude of the team was excellent with everyone pulling together to produce a hard working performance, with the guys willing to put their bodies on the line for the cause.
"It was great to see some old faces back with us and I hope that we can build on this and have a good second half of the season. Finally, I want to say thank you to Gilbey and Mike who gave it everything this season. Unfortunately things didn’t turn out the way everyone hoped that they would but I hope that we’ll see them back again soon.”
Boca's Anton Nyman told JC Sport: "We really didn't play badly and a 3-0 scoreline doesn't justify the scoreline. There was a number of dubious offsides given against us but we couldn't take our chances and gave them sloppy goals."
DC Prediction: Boca 3 FC Team 1
-------------------------------
-------------------------------
FAITHFOLD B 3 REDBRIDGE JEWISH CARE C 1
Faithfold B returned to the top five thanks to RICHARD FOGELMAN'S fifth hat-trick of the season as they overcame Redbridge C.
It was a shaky start for Faithfold with Redbridge having the majority of the chances in the first half. However, the first goal came in the 35th minute when Avi Garson's flick on found Fogelman who cooly slotted it past the young keeper.
A bizarre five minutes in the second half resulted in a red card for Daniel Lassman and a handful of yellows shown to Redbridge players for dissent towards referee Paul Dobkin.
Faithfold made it hard for themselves and sat deeper and deeper until the Essex team found the equaliser after a couple of missed clearances.
It took until the 80th minute for Faithfold to break the resilient 10-man Redbridge team. Jeremy Teacher hooked the ball back into the mix following the corner and Fogelman got up high to head home.
Fogelman sealed the points in injury-time. Jeremy Teacher played him in once again but with still a lot to do Fogelman raced down half the length of the pitch in impressive manner before faking a shot which sat the keeper down before firing it in the empty net.
DC Prediction: Faithfold 3 RJC 2

HERTSWOOD VALE 3 L’EQUIPE 4
L’Equipe’s long, unbeaten run remains intact, but only after a resilient performance in the top against bottom clash.
Andy Smith (2), Grant Bates and Jonny Kay, who scored the winner late on, found the net in a hard-fought win.
Hertswood’s goals came through Josh Cohen, Adrian Leibovitch and Ollie Brill.
L'Equipe boss Nick Stern told JC Sport: "It’s now nine wins from 10 and we go again next week. As I have said all along, one week at a time and as long as we keep battling then we are in with a real chance the rest of the way.
Hertswood joint-manager Jacob Emanuel told JC Sport: "Well well well ... almost the shock of the day. We have literally thrown away the lead against top of league with five minutes to go. The players are absolutely gutted. An exceptional second half performance almost got us our first win of the season but it wasn't meant to be. I'm proud of every single player. We're bottom of the league without a win this season and we're gutted to only take a point away from games against the 2 best teams in the division in the past fortnight. I hope FC team C are shaking in their boots at the prospect of coming to Borehamwood next Sunday. We'll be waiting.
DC Prediction: Hertswood 1 L’Equipe 4

NORTH LONDON RAIDERS C 0 RC UK FC 11
A fantastic five-goal salvo from player-manager AVI MARKIEWICZ lifted RC UK FC into the top three as they out-classed Raiders C.
Markiewicz’s men followed up last week’s dramatic cup victory with a handsome win, with Eli Shebson, Dovi Vogel, Aaron Luftig, Zalmy Cohen and two own goals completing the demolition.
RC UK bos Avi Markiewicz told JC Sport: “Every player today, just like last week, put in 100 per cent effort and the score-line was no less than the consequence of that effort mixed with some raw talent. We are on a fantastic run at the moment we just need to make sure we keep that going against Temple Fortune next week.”
DC Prediction: NLR 0 RC UK 2

REAL HENDON 3 TEMPLE FORTUNE 4
JORDAN SHARIFIAN boosted his hopes of winning the Golden Boot as Temple Fortune kept up the pressure on L’Equipe at the top with a thrilling 4-3 win over Real Hendon.
Sharifian fired a hat-trick, while Aron Barnes cemented Fortune’s sixth success.
Fortune boss Simon Linden told JC Sport: "Today will be a game we look back on at the end of the season, it's a huge three points. We had a few setbacks, with Woolfe and Rehav both coming off. Credit to the boys though. It wasn't easy, Hendon gave us a run for our money and at 3-3 it could have gone either way. The boys dug deep and our main man struck gold when it mattered.
"When you have players like Jordan there's always going to be chances, he can create out of nothing and did exactly that with three great goals, the first a contender for goal of the season."
To win this speaks volumes, now the attention turns to RCUK in what is the biggest game of the season.
DC Prediction: Real 2 Fortune 3
