MJSL JOAN COLLINS PREMIER DIVISION
MANCHESTER MACCABI YELLOW 2 SOUTH MANCHESTER SPORTS 2nd 2
Veterans Mark Magid and Neil Collins rolled back the years to help South Manchester Sports 2nd earn a share of the spoils against Maccabi Manchester Yellow.
With a combined age of 113, the pair were thrown into action due to a player shortage.
And the evergreen duo did not let the club down with Ben Gould’s late brace denying Magid’s men an impressive win.
Manager Magid told JC Sport: "We were both forced to dust off the cobwebs and turn out as we were missing so many players.
"The three teams all playing on the same day had a big knock on effect so it meant we were stretched.
"It wasn’t ideal. Neil played centre-half and I played in midfield. And I have to say Neil I was like a Rolls Royce in a Demolition Derby. He was cruising."
Harry Nelson and Josh Darcy had the hosts in control before a late comeback saw Gould covert from the penalty spot before levelling late on.
Magic said: “It’s the first time we have played this season – and hopefully it’s the last."
