An undefeated 45 from debutant Charlie Mason ensured South Manchester got off to a winning start to the season against Manchester Maccabi in the Greater Manchester Amateur Cricket League.
Mason, ably supported by David Cohen and Avrom Topperman, enabled South to reach their target of 155 with the loss of seven wickets.
South recovered from 62-6 after some poor batting against Ray Tammam who finished with figures of 5-45.
Only Shai Rabinowitz made any other meaningful contribution with 30 at the top of the innings.
Earlier in the daym Maccabi were put in to bat and got off to a steady start with Tammam (28) and Dansky (19) adding 66 for the first wicket.
Thereafter wickets fell at regular intervals and were spread evenly around the South bowlers.
Cohen finished with 3-27 and new recruit Taylor 2-27 making notable contributions leaving South to chase a target of 155.
