Shulton targets net gains at EMG

Aimee Shulton believes the Team Maccabi GB Badminton squads are small but perfectly formed as they go in search of medals at this summer's European Maccabi Games.

Maccabi GB this week unveiled the roster who compete in the Open and Junior events in Berlin.

Shulton, will manage the Junior squad and is Team MGB's sole representative in the Open competition.

She said: "We have a small team this year but the players are showing a lot of potential.

"With a lot of hard work and dedication they will be able to improve and eventually reach their full ability.

"Who knows, we could even see some Team MGB names on the medals table.

"My aims for the European Maccabi Games are for the players to experience an international standard of competition so that it gives them motivation to keep training and improving for years to come, hopefully with the goal of competing at a Maccabiah Games like I did.

Team MGB has a proud history of winning Badminton medals at the EMG’s. In Vienna in 2011 the squads returned home with six awards including three Golds, one Gold Plate, a Silver and a Silver Plate.

Shulton added: "My personal goal would be for me to come away with a medal in the Open category. I am also really excited for everyone to experience the history of Berlin during the pre-camp and throughout the EMG with the rest of the delegation."
