Itay Shechter was given special dispensation to miss Tuesday’s Capital One clash against Crawley Town because of Yom Kippur.
The Israeli striker, who is on loan from Kaiserslauten, was in line to make his first start for Swansea, but he was given permission to miss the match by manager Michael Laudrup.
"When Michael was in Majorca he had two Israeli players, so he knew I couldn’t play,” said Shechter.
"It's not easy for me because I know this is a game I could have started and showed people my quality.
"Some things in life are more important. I have worked well in training and I know my chance will come."
