Second meet for Jewish Golf

The Association of Jewish Golf & Societies held the second meeting of its current calendar at Moor Allerton when the Northern Junior bowl featured six teams representing all the clubs and societies affiliated to the Association other than the London Clubs and Sussex Jewish Golf Society

The first element of the competition was played on Saturday with the Shirley pairing of Joe Norton and Ellie Berwick winning the four-ball better ball format with a score of 62

Play switched to singles on Sunday and the prize for best gross went to Andy McLachalan of Bonnyton with an impressive score of 74 closely followed by the runner up, Glen Senior of Lee Park.

The prize for best net was decided by a card playoff with Joe Norton of Shirley beating R Kaye, Moor Allerton, after both had returned scores of net 65.

The major prize of the weekend, The Montlake Trophy, was won by Shirley with an aggregate score of 409 arrived at by combining the two best better ball scores with the four best singles. They prevailed after a weekend of competitive golf by six shots from the host club, Moor Allerton who received the Whitefield Trophy.
