PETER MORRISON TROPHY ROUND ONE
TOTTENHAM CHUTSPAH 2 GLENTHORNE UNITED A 7
Division One leaders Glenthorne A finished in seventh heaven against fourth division Tottenham Chutspah with striker CRAIG SANDFORD filling his boots with a classy hat-trick.
Further strikes from Gary Tiller, Daniel Lassman, Daniel Lipman and Tottenham fan Josh Wynne sealed an ultimately comfortable morning's work in Regents Park.
Adam Morrow and Sammy Hakimian netted for Chutspah.
Thornes boss Sam Rosenthal told JC Sport: "We're pleased to be in the next round of the cup."
Tottenham Chutspah boss Ariel Tamman told JC Sport: "We played sloppy football when it came to the set-pieces, which in effect truly lost us the game, as we conceded five goals from corners. After the second half we tightened up from 5-1 down and we showed them that the Chutspah boys can put up a good fight. After all we are a new team playing the best team in division one. And we've got to give those boys some credit, they played great football, although there were a few clashes between their own players, which let them down in my opinion.
"Overall I'm proud of the Chutspah boys and this loss has definitely strengthened the team in many different ways. Now when we start playing in Division Three its gonna seem a walk in the park. However, we're got to train harder and stronger if we really wanna get our hands on some trophies this season.
"On the issue of roll on roll off subs, I am certainly in favour of it. This is because it can give the players a chance re-organise catch their breath and most of all it allows
me as a manager to bring my best 12 to a game and then switch with the roll on/roll off. I think it's great and improves the standard of football in a game."
