Dmitriy Salita is treading carefully as he closes in on a world light-welterweight title fight.

Hoping to challenge the winner of WBA champion Andreas Kotelnik’s planned title defence against Victor Ortiz, Salita called off this week’s scheduled fight against Raul Munoz at the Aviator Arena in Brooklyn.

Instead, Salita, ranked No. 1 challenger by the WBA, is hoping to fight a high-profile opponent on a big show at Buffalo Bill’s Casino, Primm Valley Resorts, Nevada on May 16 as he waits for the world title situation to unravel.
