Alex Swift struck four goals for Heaton Park Rovers – but still ended up on the losing side as Reich Insurance Rangers went goal crazy.

A second-half blitz from Reich left HPR shell-shocked in a 12-goal thriller.

David Seligman’s men were leading at the break before mid-table Reich went on the rampage.

Simon Lachs netted a brace while Michael Gaswirth, Andy Shaffer, Ben Burton, Saya Halpen all netted. Two own goals from player-manager Seligman completed HPR’s misery.

Reich’s director of football Mike Gaswirth said: "They took us for granted when they lead at half-time and we steamrolled them.

"The conditions were bad for both teams but we wanted it more. It was a bizarre game where everything he hit seemed to go in. But it was the least we deserved.

"We feel we should be higher in the table."

Seligman claimed the second-half horror show took him by surprise.

"It was a bad day at the office. It was summed up by the own goals. We move on and we have bigger fish to fry."

Meanwhile in the Shonn Trophy, Haroldeans put Manchester Maccabi Yellows to the sword after romping to a 5-0 win.

Adam Boyars’ treble and a double from Alistair Goldsmith was enough for the Merseysiders.
