Two goals from Ashley Reece kept AFC Flixto on course for the treble as they overpowered South Manchester 3-0.

Paul Abels was also on target as the Manchester Accountants League champions set up a final showdown against Lawds or PWC in the final on May 24. That is sandwiched in between the Handicap Cup final outing against Manchester Maccabi 1st.

South's Michael Stratton told JC Sport: "It was a disappointing end to an encouraging season.

Flixton opened the scoring through a fortuitous strike before adding a second early in the second half through a fantastic strike. The third put the nail in the coffin.

Stratton said: "We didn't have enough in the tank to beat a strong Flixton squad."

"We have had a good season overall, picking up momentum since Christmas, which is definitely something we will look to build on next season."

"You know what you get when you play Flixton - many negative words spring to mind... but you can't deny their class at this level - worthy champions and good luck to them in their cup finals."
