Dan Kristall insists tougher tests lie ahead after Oakwood A eased into the third round of the Peter Morrison Trophy at the expense of second division Boca Jewniors.
This was a tie where Premier Division class ultimately told as Oakwood A cruised home with goals from Bobbie Cousins, Sam Cantor, Josh Rose and Kyle Bentwood.
On a tricky surface given the overnight frost and with a few players having commitments up north, Oakwood were delighted to win the game and advance to the next round.
The whole game was played in Boca’s half which made finding space and scoring opportunities very difficult. The pitch and the conditions also made life very tricky for the visitors and joint-manager Kristall said: "It is no joke to say that our keeper did not touch the ball with his hands in the entire match".
Once they scored a couple of early goals, the victory was never in doubt.
Kristall told JC Sport: "Our composure in front of goal and our final ball must improve, especially against the teams around us in the league and that was our downfall today.
"Credit must go to Boca who were fighting for every challenge and at 2-0 down they were actually quite content but the two goals in the last 10 minutes gave a fairer reflection of the match.
"We focus on three huge weeks in the build-up to Chanukah where we must start winning the big league games. That starts with a tough trip to Camden next week."
Boca's Anton Nyman told JC Sport: "We played with great commitment against what must be said is a very good footballing side.
"We're disappointed to have conceded two early goals, followed by a late penalty but really if we play with that heart against Temple Fortune next time out we will be right in the hunt for the three points - so definitely some positives to take!"
