Numbers up as Maccabi Masters League prepares for 17th season

Players from the Maccabi Masters Football League are preparing for its 17th season which kicks-off on Sunday.

North London Raiders will be looking to retain the title and this season's league programme being sponsored for the first time thanks to a deal with Barry Silkman's Double O Seven Management company.

League Chairman Stuart Lustigman said:"Silky has been playing in our league for a number of years and despite the fact that he has played in the top tier of English football with Manchester City and other clubs, he still has the passion and desire to turn out on a Sunday morning and add something special to Masters football.

"We will continue to endeavour to provide the best facilties that we can for our players."

Silkman said: "Even when playing as a professional footballer, I never imagined that I would still be playing into my sixties and I am delighted to be associated with a League that brings so much pleasure and physical well being to so many mature players."
