DANNY CARO'S GOAL OF THE WEEK

WINNER - AVI KORMAN (Hendon Utd SC A) - unleashed an unstoppable 30-yard pile-driver into the top corner in the final minute of the cup final – Roy of the Rovers stuff

Runner-up - ANDY SMITH (L'Equipe) - GOAL 1 - picked up the ball in his own half and went on a Didier Drogba/Mark Smith-esq type run, nutmugging one poor soul, spinning round another and capping it off by putting their centre half on his back side, and this was even before reaching the penalty area. Once there he took it round another defender and coolly slotted the ball into the net

3rd - MITCH YOUNG (FC Team B) - dummied a defender, a one-two with Madanes before curling into top corner. Stuff out of the 2006 book!

-----------------------------
-----------------------------

DANNY CARO'S SAVE OF THE WEEK

WINNER: - RUSSELL CORIN (Hendon Utd SC A) - incredible point-blank reaction stop from a bullet header from Ricky Engleman at an absolutely crucial time

Runner-up - JAKE DOFFMAN (NL Raiders A) - brilliant block to deny a thumping effort from Yoav Kestenbaum

-----------------------------
-----------------------------

DANNY CARO'S QUOTE OF THE WEEK

WINNER: - - DAVID GARBACZ (Hendon Utd SC A) - QUOTE 2 - "It’s time for someone else to take the reins – I don’t want to do an Arsene Wenger and carry on too long, but I'm delighted to bow out on a winning note"

- DAVID GARBACZ (Hendon Utd SC A) - QUOTE 1 - "Once again, congratulations to Raiders on a tremendous double-winning season but it feels good to only say double and not treble. The win today caps what was ultimately a successful season for us – if not so the league, we have still proved we were the team to beat in the cups and to win this national Cup for a third successive season is a remarkable achievement which we are all very proud of"

- ROB RICHMAN (NL Raiders A) - "Congratulations to Hendon - they pushed us close in the league last season and we know they are a very strong outfit and a great group of players and they deserved the win"

- JONATHAN GREEN (NL Raiders A) - "To win back-to-back doubles is a huge achievement and one we are quite rightly proud of. It hasn’t been done since 1977-78 so we made our own little bit of history this season"

- NICK STERN (L'Equipe) - "It must have been the sun but for the Faithfold manager to say they deserved something is one of the funniest things heard all season. He really must have left his sun cream at home!"

PETER MORRISON TROPHY FINAL

Extra-time was on the cards until Korman popped up on the edge of the box to lash home a swerving shot into the top corner past Jake Doffman against the double winners.

After the game, Hendon boss David Garbacz announced that he was stepping down as manager after six successful years, with a third FA Cup the icing on the cake.

Garbacz told JC Sport: "We felt that overall we definitely deserved the win – we had the better chances and more of the possession and I felt our midfield three of Avi Korman Ari last and Moses Seitler had the upper hand all day."

NLR joint-manager David Garbacz told JC Sport: "It wasn't a great game - the heat and state of the pitch made it very difficult for both sides to play much exciting football. In addition, the two teams are evenly matched. Congratulations to Hendon - they pushed us close in the league last season and we know they are a very strong outfit and a great group of players and they deserved the win."

Another hat-trick from LORIAN MADANES boosted FC Team B's promotion hopes as they destroyed Brixton 11-0.

Mitch Young's men hit the woodwork several times but braces from Richard Salmon, Andy Sheena and Jon Breger moved them to within two points of second-placed SPEC FC.

James Korn and Young ensured FC Team completed a league double over a Brixton team rooted to the foot of the table.

FC Team player-manager Mitch Young told JC Sport: "It was an extremely comfortable performance where we should have scored 20. However, we can only beat what we are put up against and it is a shame we weren't tested heading into two massive games. Credit to Brixton for fielding an 11 and I hope they can stay together as I can imagine how difficult it is."
