-------------------------------

DANNY CARO'S GOAL OF THE WEEK

WINNER: - ROB HERSHKORN (Camden Park) - having just come on, Jordan Silverstone settled into the game instantly, and when left with too much space in the middle of the park, was able to play a defence-splitting pass right through to Rob leaving him one on one with the keeper. Once he opened up his body, there was only one result, and he stroked the ball calm as you like into the bottom corner leaving their keeper with no chance

RUNNER-UP: - JOSH BLOOM (ML Lions B) - flicked the ball up to himself in the box with his back to goal, spun and volleyed the ball into the top right hand corner of the goal

3rd. DAN BANETH (Camden Park) - Guy Marks had the beating of his full-back from the first minute. After he beat the defender, he got to the byline, and drilled in a ball low and hard into the box with Baneth strolling into the box unmarked able to smash the ball into the net

-------------------------------
-------------------------------

DANNY CARO'S SAVE OF THE WEEK

WINNER: - JAKE DOFFMAN (NL Raiders A) - at 0-0 pulled out a world-class save to stop James Gershfield giving Harmen the lead. If that would have gone in it really could have been a different game

RUNNER-UP - EZEKIEL JACOB (Hendon B) - miraculous deflection saved Hendon from conceding late on when he diverted a goal bound thunderbolt against Faithfold C

3rd. ADAM ZAIDMAN (FC Team A) SAVE 1 - pulled off a miraculous stop for a Ben Sollosi 20-yarder heading to the right-hand corner and turned round the post with a great save

4th. ADAM ZAIDMAN (FC Team A) SAVE 2 - a crucial one-on-one block against the usually deadly Dan Garfinkle, but the mighty Zaidman came up trumps

-------------------------------
-------------------------------

DANNY CARO'S QUOTE OF THE WEEK

WINNER - ROB RICHMAN (NL Raiders A) - Jordan Marks, Nick Lewis and Alex Kaye were just part of an exceptional collective effort and when we play like that we will give everyone a very tough morning. We already look forward to our next league game and it will be great to have Matt Stock back to supplement the side further!"

RUNNER-UP - ADAM GLEKIN (Hendon B) - "I think my team see me as a bit of a moaner but I've not had too much to complain about so far with 4 points and 2 clean sheets to start the season. Long may it continue!"

3rd. SIMON LINDEN (Blizzard Storm) - "It's a big win but let's not get carried away, we have another tough 90 next week and I'll be looking for more of the same"

OAKS TWO GOOD FOR WANDERERS
WOODFORD WANDERERS 0 OAKWOOD A 2
Daniel Seligman and Dave Woolman fired Oakwood A into the third round of the League Cup as they beat first division Woodford.

Seligman opened the scoring following a good move that resulted in Dan Rose crossing for the new signing to produce a tidy finish. Woolman sealed the tie with nice finish into the top corner following a precision centre from another new boy, Mark Korn.

Oakwood joint-manager Dan Kristall told JC Sport: "It was a comfortable performance where the scoreline flattered the hosts. We were missing up to eight players through injury and other commitments but we could have won by considerably more.

"We're happy with another clean sheet and were rarely threatened. We were happy to finish the game off with the second late on as it only takes a moment at 1-0. We took our opposition seriously and were conscious of kicking out complacency, however we must improve our final third composure and finishing."
