JC GOAL OF THE WEEK: THE CONTENDERS
- DAVID GROSSMAN (FC Team A) - cracked home a 35-yard screamer against Raiders
- ALEX ELF (NL Raiders C) - after a misplaced defensive free kick, he took one tough with his right and scored a delightful long range lob with his left that the keeper could only admire as it sailed over his head and nestled in the back of the net
- DANNY SHERMAN (Scrabble FC) - a superb volley from just inside the penalty box to make the game safe for Scrabble at 3-0
- NICK LEWIS (NL Raiders A) - picked up the ball just past the half-way line, shrugged off a couple of defenders and then from 25 yards out arrowed a strike off the post and into the net
------------------------------
------------------------------
JC SAVE OF THE WEEK: THE CONTENDERS
- CHARLES BRAUNSTEIN (NL Raiders) - superb goaline clearance, blocking a shot from the middle of the box

- RICKY ENGLEMAN (NL Raiders A) - outstanding goal-line clearance from Ricky who somehow managed to block a well struck volley from the Manchester striker with Doffman beaten
------------------------------
------------------------------
JC QUOTE OF THE WEEK: THE CONTENDERS
- DARYL KAY (Woodford) - "You can probably guess what happened, but if you can't, we were once again 2-0 up and we ended up drawing 2-2"
- JONATHAN ADELMAN (NL Raiders B) - "All season long we've struggled to get a viable XI on the pitch and it seems part of a wider malaise in Jewish football. I fear if that malaise is not addressed with some genuinely creative initiatives, this could be the last generation of 11-a-side Jewish Sunday league football - and that would be a terrible shame"
- ROB RICHMAN (NL Raiders A) - QUOTE 1 - "It was great to be able to get the game played. We had the unfortunate situation of our original pitch being called off at 10.00am and with the Manchester Maccabi squad 2 hours into their journey it was imperative we sorted an alternative pitch. Somehow we secured a back up pitch and redirected the Manchester side to Capital City for a really competitive cup tie. We wish Manchester well, they are an excellent side and we hope they go on to secure the league title this season"
- ROB RICHMAN (NL Raiders A) - QUOTE 2 - "Since the November 1 we have conceded one goal from open play and today even without our first choice centre back pairing from the start of the season we looked so solid and resolute"

PETER MORRISON TROPHY ROUND THREE
THREE CHEERS FOR RED-HOT RAIDERS
NORTH LONDON RAIDERS A 3 MANCHESTER MACCABI 1st 1
Jordan Marks, Ricky Engelman and Nick Lewis were the marksmen as Raiders boosted their treble hopes with a 3-1 victory over Maccabi 1st at Capital City.
Raiders boss Rob Richman told JC Sport: "Over the course of the game I felt we deserved the win, we took our chances really well as we have done throughout the season but just as importantly we looked so secure defensively."
Maccabi manager Tony Gellman told JC Sport: "We have no complaints at the scoreline. The difference between the two teams was the finishing. They were simply more clinical than us."
DC Prediction: Raiders 2 Manchester 1

SUPER SHEENA STEERS TEAM TO PERFECT 10
NORTH LONDON RAIDERS B 1 FC TEAM B 10
ANDY SHEENA helped himself to a hat-trick as FC Team started 2016 in style, striking the perfect 10 against Raiders.
Braces from Richard Salmon and Jon Breger plus one apiece from Ben Binder, Adam Rones and David Grossman sealed Team's biggest win of the season.
Jubilant boss Mitch Young told JC Sport: "Off the back of a defeat, missing all 5 of our regular defenders and then going 0-1 down to come back and score 10 is quite unbelievable really."
NLR boss Jonathan Adelman told JC Sport: "We were shambolic, but I won't criticise the boys who did make themselves available."
DC Prediction: Raiders 2 Team 2

WOODFORD SHOOT THEMSELVES IN THE FOOT AGAIN
WOODFORD WANDERERS 2 LOS BLANCOS 2
Woodford's missed another chance to go clear at the top after they were held 2-2 by Blancos.
Harrison Midda and Paul Biller struck for Woodford, but goals from Jamie Kutner and Joel Kutner earned Blancos a point.
Blancos Jonathan Ison told JC Sport: "Before the game we would have taken a point, with a depleted squad of 12, including two debutants - one being our keeper - and one player who hadn't featured at all since pre-season due to injury. However, we were really good value for the draw and it was the very least we deserved."
Woodford boss Daryl Kay told JC Sport: "There's no-one to blame except ourselves really. Individual and team errors keep costing us."
DC Prediction: Woodford 4 Blancos 2

IT'S LUCKY 13 FOR SUPER SCRABBLE
SCRABBLE FC 3 BOCA JEWNIORS 0
Goals from Elliott Espinoza, Jonathan Peters and Danny Sherman inspired Scrabble FC to their 13th consecutive victory of a brilliant season as they took another big step towards the title with a 3-0 success over lowly Boca at Capital City.
Delighted Scrabble boss Ray Abrahams told JC Sport: "To have a 16-point lead at this stage of the season says so much for the camaraderie, spirit and atmosphere in the squad at the moment and when you're winning like this the games can't come quickly enough."
Boca's Anton Nyman told JC Sport: "We battled well throughout against a standout side in our league. Unfortunately we picked up a couple of injuries, but hopefully those wounds will heal in the next couple of weeks and we'll go again against Bilbaum in two weeks time."
DC Prediction: Scrabble 5 Boca 0
