JC GOAL OF THE WEEK: THE CONTENDERS
- ADAM HILSENRATH (Hertswood Vale) - signed as an emergency player on the morning, started the move at right-back, latched onto Jordan Harris’ through ball, kept running before dinking the ball over the keeper with the most cheeky of finishes. His first goal in Jewish football following a barren run at Straw Hat Pirates last season
- SCOTT WAISSEL (NL Raiders) - having recently been sent to train with Los Camden in order to get his confidence back up, Waissel outmuscled former EMFT team-mate Josh Pugh before pulling the ball out of the sky. He let it bounce before hitting an absolute stunner into the top corner on the half-volley from outside the box, sparking wild celebrations from the Raiders boys both on and off the field
- CONOR PERL (FC Team) - trademark 40-yard ping into the roof of the net spotting keeper off his line
- MITCH YOUNG (FC Team) - dipping half-volley from 30 yards into top corner
---------------------------
JC SAVE OF THE WEEK: THE CONTENDERS
- MATT KEMP (Redbridge JC A) - two amazing saves from the RJC stopper to ensure RJC took the points back to Essex

JC QUOTE OF THE WEEK: THE CONTENDERS
- JACOB EMANUEL (Hertswood Vale) - "We were made to work for this one. Credit to Raiders for playing a perfect game for the first 30 minutes of the match. However, after we nicked a goal back just before half-time, we really stepped up and the boys can be proud of an important comeback win"
- MITCH YOUNG (FC Team) - "Congratulations to everyone involved. After a difficult start to the season, hopefully this can be the kick-starter we needed. We were sensational today and on another day it would have been 20! To make history in our 15th year as a club is a great feeling"
- RAY ABRAHAMS (Scrabble FC A) - “It would have been easy to throw the towel in and not play today as we only had 10 players after our Captain was taken ill and our team included some masters boys and three teenagers making their debuts. But I’m proud of two things after the game. The first was the effort and commitment our boys gave running themselves into the ground for the club and the second was a fantastic gesture from the Jewdinese manager when he withdrew a player to even up the numbers. The Jewdinese boys are a great bunch of lads and deserve to have a really successful season. We look forward to meeting them later in the season when we have everyone available”
- HARRY MARKS (Jewdinese) - "A special mention goes to Scrabble for allowing us to continue the game, and a big thank you to their management team for the commitment shown to keep them in the league. We thoroughly look forward to meeting them again later in the season"
- DAN KRISTALL (Oakwood A) - "On an individual note, I am really pleased for Josh (Bharier), he has settled into life at Oakwood really well and is in the goals. He has his eye on that golden boot award"
- AVI MARKIEWICZ (Faithfold Doc MM A) - "It’s pretty crazy to think that we’ve scored more than any other club but also let in more"

YOUR WEEKEND REVIEW STARTS HERE:
HERTS SENIOR COUNTY CUP ROUND TWO
FINCHLEY UNITED 1st 2 MACCABI LONDON LIONS 4
A deadly double from Adam Arnold inspired Lions into the third round of the London County Cup following an excellent display against Finchley United. Further strikes from Michael Kenley and Reiss Mogilner, plus a penalty save from James Harpin, sealed the win.
Lions joint-manager Max Kyte told JC Sport: "It was our best performance of the season, with all 11 players and subs putting in a great fight and playing completely as a team. The work rate and desire to win individual battles was superb and the win was thoroughly deserved."

FAITHFOLD DOC MM A 3 OAKWOOD A 6
A four-goal burst from JOSH BHARIER saw Oakwood climb to second after returning to winnings ways by hitting Faithfold A for six to claim their third league win of the season. Leor Sidle, who rivalled Bharier for the man-of-the-match award, bagged a brace.
Delighted Oaks joint-manager Dan Kristall told JC Sport: "A great win and an even better response to last weeks defeat. We played some unbelievable stuff in the 1st half and blew Faithfold away. We moved the ball quickly and created lots of opportunities."
Faithfold's goals came via Avi Markiewicz, Eli Davila and Darra Rezagi. Player-manager Markiewicz told JC Sport: "We twice had players in the sin-bin and had a man sent off and I’m very disappointed in that. We were very frustrated with a host of calls, especially quite a few offsides nevertheless I expect better of my team. It’s pretty crazy to think that we’ve scored more than any other club but also let in more."
DC Prediction: Faithfold 2 Oakwood 3

HMH 1 HENDON UNITED SPORTS 1
Hendon are four points clear at the top following a 1-1 draw against HMH at the Hive. After a goalless first half, HMH forged ahead through Oscar Wagner but Hendon hit back to claim a draw via Yehuda Korman.
HMH chief Avi Goldberg told JC Sport: "The boys put in a huge stint today and showed their class. That’s four points out of six against hendon and we remain the only unbeaten team against them. The other challengers will be very happy. Now we need to start showing this intensity and levels of performance against the others.”
Hendon's Greg Corin, who was standing in for absent boss Jordan Sapler, told JC Sport: "We maybe lacked our usual quality at times but HMH are a very good team and it wasn’t easy to play extended periods of good football due to the fast pace, physical nature of the game."
DC Prediction: HMH 1 Hendon 2

FAIRLOP FC 2 BAYERN MINCHA 1
Strikes from Harrison Grant and an own goal ensured Fairlop FC finished the week in top spot following a hard-earned win over Bayern Mincha, which keeps them just a point behind local rivals Redbridge, with a game in hand. Assistant-manager Alon Pinhas struck for the visitors.
Fairlop boss Aaron Dias told JC Sport; "We were far from our best today, despite some good spells of football, it was probably our worst performance of the season. The only positive was the fact we managed to hold on for yet another crucial three points. The victory was our 21st in our last 22 league games, which is some feat. But the morning was overshadowed by our goalkeeper suffering what looked like a horrendous broken ankle midway through the second-half. Massive credit to the Mincha players, who were extremely professional and helpful through the 15-minute break."
DC Prediction: Fairlop 2 Bayern 0

OAKWOOD B 2 NORTH LONDON RAIDERS 3
Goals from Charlie Kasler, Scott Waissel and Aron Gale helped North London Raiders win a five-goal thriller at Oakwood B to earn after battling back from 0-2 down to their first triumph of the season.
Delighted Raiders joint-manager Jake Yudelowitz told JC Sport: "All 12 of the boys who took part today were sensational, I'd nominate all of them for TOTW if possible. Debutants Richard Winton and Alex Newman worked their socks off. Gav Fox and Tal Cohen were rocks, Scott Waissel had his mojo back and Aron Gale looks like he is going to score every time in front of goal now. Ben Rosen and Yarden Sharon were class as always. Oli Misner in goal commanded his area. There was even harmony on the sidelines. A perfect morning!"
Daniel Selwyn and Daniel Seligman had put the Oaks into pole position until the NLR fightback. Disappointed Oakwood joint-manager Jason Stein told JC Sport: "Frankly it’s as crushing a defeat as I can recall in my five seasons and we’ve got a big job on our hands to recover from it. Only time will tell whether our players have the stomach for that slog."
DC Prediction: Oakwood 2 NLR 1

SCRABBLE FC A 0 JEWDINESE 14
ZAC BRIN, SAM STERN and ZACH COLLINS all fired treble as unbeaten Jewdinese continued their march up the table with their biggest win to date - smashing double figures against basement battlers Scrabble. The Zebras led 8-0 after 45, with Sim Cohen adding a quality free-kick, with Brad Dryer, Joe Meisel and Barney Rhodes adding the gloss.
'Nese assistant-manager Harry Marks told JC Sport: "Overall it is difficult not to be pleased with the performance due to the score line, although I do feel like we never really got out of second gear."
Scrabble boss Ray Abrahams told JC Sport: “It would have been easy to throw the towel in and not play today as we only had 10 players, after our Captain was taken ill and our team included some masters boys and three teenagers making their debuts. LOS CAMDEN B 3 REDBRIDGE JEWISH CARE A 4
JAMES BERKLEY was the hat-trick hero as Redbridge A preserved their lead at the top, but only after an almighty scare against Los Camden.
This was a game of two half’s. RJC A were good in the first half and went into a 4-0 lead, with a breathtaking treble from Berkley and a penalty from the in-form Nate Kashket. But Los Camden rallied superbly in the second half, with goals from Louis Couque, Richard Hayim and Rob Hershkorn setting up a grandstand finish, but RJC held on.
RJC boss Sam Rank told JC Sport: "Today was a big reality check, I am hoping this will be the big kick up the backside the boys need. Now we're looking forward to the cup game next week."
Los Camden's Richard Hayim told JC Sport: "We almost came back in the second half and were fearless from the word go. We outplayed them for the full 45 minutes, scoring three and could have got another three, but the Redbridge keeper kept them in the lead with three fantastic saves."
DC Prediction: Los Camden 0 RJC 2

Faithfold's Motty Korman told JC Sport: "We're very pleased with the result; we knew we were up against a very experienced and organised team and we were able to grind out the result."
Neil Kochane scored for Scrabble for the second game in a row, and reflecting on a game that was goalless at half-time, player-manager Jon Yantin told JC Sport: "We had injuries and only 11 players available, and the old men just couldn’t keep up."

FAITHFOLD DOC MM C 0 FC TEAM 15
Mitch Young reflected on a memorable morning for FC Team who gave their fans some much-needed cheer as they ran in 15 goals without reply against Faithfold C - their biggest ever MGBSFL win. CONOR PERL (5), MITCH YOUNG (4) and recent arrival JOSH MORRIS (3) led the way, with Richard Salmon (2) and an own goal completeing the rout for FC Team in a complete mis-match.
Delighted FC Team player-manager Mitch Young told JC Sport: "Congratulations to everyone involved. After a difficult start to the season, hopefully this can be the kick-starter we needed. We were sensational today and on another day it would have been 20! To make history in our 15th year as a club is a great feeling. Credit to Faithfold - they had one midfielder who was excellent on the day and at times we could not get near him and good luck to them in the future."
DC Prediction: Faithfold 1 Team 3

NORTH LONDON RAIDERS MASTERS 2 HERTSWOOD VALE 5
Goals from Ben Mandel (2), James Millet, Harry Graham and a debut goal from Adam Hilsenrath saw Hertswood Vale come from 2-0 down to secure a 5-2 win in front of the JC cameras.
Jonny Blain and Wayne Davidson struck for Raiders.
Jubilant Vale joint-manager Jacob Emanuel told JC Sport: "We were made to work for this one. Credit to Raiders for playing a perfect game for the first 30 minutes of the match. However, after we nicked a goal back just before half-time, we really stepped up and the boys can be proud of an important comeback win."
NLR joint-manager James Cartmell told JC Sport: "This was a key turning point and Hertswood took all the momentum into the second half. They dominated possession, making the most of their superior fitness, and we lost our shape a bit. To be fair, they were worthy of their equaliser and subsequent goals albeit again some fortune about one or two of them."
DC Prediction: Raiders 1 Vale 2

SPEC FC 5 TEMPLE FORTUNE 3
A four-goal bonanza from ZACK NEIMAN inspired SPEC FC to victory as they kept their title bid on track with an entertaining 5-3 win over Temple Fortune. Sam Martin was SPEC's other scorer.
MAX MARTIN fired a hat-trick for Fortune on his debut in a game where SPEC led 1–0, 2-1 and 3-2 but Fortune pegged them back each time, until two late goals won it for the Bananas.
SPEC FC player-manager Ricky Lawrence told JC Sport: "It was a close game and we had to work very hard for our win. We were pegged back three times but we held on at the fourth time of asking.”
DC Prediction: SPEC 2 Fortune 1
