These are exciting times at Harmen who have marked their return to the top-flight with a new management team and some top-notch signings to boot.
COMPETITIONS ENTERED: As per last year, we are entering the Cyril Anekstein Cup, Peter Morrison Trophy and the Premier Division of the MGBSFL.
HOPES FOR THE SEASON: We did not take the option of promotion without serious consideration of what we could do with our squad this year, but early discussions with the newly revamped management team of Joseph Marsh, Oliver Leslie, Samuel Castle and Joel Alterman about new signings that we were going to make left us in little doubt that the Prem was the place for us to be. We have been working hard in pre-season to gel the new boys and if we can get everyone playing the way we have been in our pre-season games there is no reason why we can’t be towards the top of the table come the end of the season.
PLAYERS IN: We have had a complete overhaul of our squad, bringing in players with top level experience who are committed to the Harmen cause. New signings include James Gershfield, George Fierstone, Bradley Dryer, Bradley Sharp, David Ronson, Joey Lazare, Josh Brooks, Marc Foster, Ollie Craig, Jake Gottleib and Rob Blackman. Marc Lazare has also joined but faces a spell on the sidelines having been injured in a horror tackle in his first appearance in Harmen colours.
PLAYERS OUT: Sadly we have lost two players to retirement in James Sandler and Adam Osper, while Bradley Fox, Jordan Segal and Mitch Green have moved on to pastures new.
ONES TO WATCH: All of our new signings bring an added dimension to our team and we now have dangerous players in all areas of the pitch. Coupled with the core of the squad that we have retained from last season, there are exciting times ahead for Harmen.
CAPTAIN: After six years of captaining Harmen, Jon Morris is stepping down. Stepping into his boots and leading Harmen into this new era will be Ben Weinberg. He is a great leader on and off the pitch and will captain the side with pride.
WHAT WILL YOUR TEAM BRING TO THE LEAGUE THIS SEASON? Other teams in the Prem will look at Harmen as an easy fixture due to the nature of our promotion, but they should be under no illusions that we have a quality and a youthfulness in our side that will give all the teams a run for their money. We will look to play stylish football but we know we have the ability to dig in where required.
