Ma’ayan in the medals

articlemain

Ma’ayan Davidovich boosted her hopes of Olympic qualification after winning the bronze medal at the women’s World Windsurfing Championships in Santander.

Davidovich, 26, retained third place in the competition for the second consecutive year, but she admits there is still room for improvement.

"It's always great to be on the podium, but I must admit I was disappointed this time,” said Davidovich.

"I started the final race in second position and was hoping for more."

Davidovich is now targeting an Olympic medal in Rio de Janeiro in 2016, but her place is far from guaranteed as Israel can only field one competitor. And it remains unclear whether three-time world champion Lee Korzits will come out of retirement to challenge for that berth.
