HERTS SENIOR COUNTY LEAGUE PREMIER DIVISION
STANDON & PUCKERIDE 1 LONDON LIONS 0
London Lions suffered their second defeat of the season after going down 1-0 away at Standon & Puckeridge.
The first half lacked any real quality from either side. The second half was much of the same with Josh Kennet and TJ Keterman creating the two best chances for Lions.
The only goal of the game came after 79 minutes when a series of poor defensive errors led to a free kick being given away. The resulting set-piece was pumped into the box where the Standon centre forward headed home from close range.
Lions failed to create anything else and the game ended in defeat.
Lions coach Darren Yarlett said: "This wasn’t pretty on the eye, but we didn't deserve a win. I thought a draw would have been a fair result as both sides created so little.
"I wasn’t happy with the goal as there were two seperate incidents which led up to the free-kick being given and we allowed their centre forward a free head at goal. Not a good day."
