Travelling to Hillingdon, the signs were ominous with the home side having claimed 15 points from their first six outings, and Lions having just earned three draws to date, but with manager Andy Landesberg able to call upon a steadily increasing number of experienced players, a win was the target. And so it was to be, win Lions producing an outstanding effort throughout.

At the back, David Myers returned in goal and showed his class in keeping a clean sheet, in front of him the unlikely centre-back pairing of Harry Hatchwell playing his first 90 minutes in over a year, alongside Charlie Rubin impressed.

Jake Furman and Levi Levenfische were tireless in the middle while Adam Arnold produced an excellent performance in creating for the Lions forwards, spearheaded by ‘false 9’ Charlie Kasler.

Lions won the game with a solitary goal from Lipman and will look to kick on and climb the table now the monkey is off the back.

Manager Landesberg said: "It was a really good performance and now we want to build on this. We are unbeaten in three league games, so we are aiming to put a run together now."
