Leeds strike back to hurt Harmen

Leeds Maccabi came from two goals down to reach the semi-finals of the Peter Morrison Trophy after beating Southgate Harmen A 5-2 after extra time. A first-half brace from Russell Becker put Harmen in the box seat but a goal either side of the break put Leeds back in the tie.

Michael Pearson (3), David Dinkin (2), Ben Joseph and Max Fieldgrass eased holders London Maccabi Lions A into the fourth round of the JC Cyril Anekstein Cup after they hammered North London Raiders A 7-2. Adam Posner (2) replied.

Oakwood EDRS eliminated Division One rivals North West Neasden B after a penalty shootout. Matt Geey, Ric Blank and Rob Bloch were on target for the Oaks as the tie finished 3-3 after extra time. Ian Tussie, Anthony Kintish, Dan Abrams, Dan Geey and Adam Levine converted from the spot leaving keeper Alex Krotosky to make the vital save to take them through.

Premier Division high-flyers Chigwell Athletic A and Hendon United A drew 2-2 in the JC MSFL. Two goals from Steve Summers were cancelled out by Hendon’s Saul Conway and Ari Last.

Montana Boca United A moved a step closer to the relegation trapdoor as Faithfold A took four points out of a possible six in a double-header. Matty Kleinman and Ben Lewis were on the mark as Faithfold won the opener 3-0.

Jordan Sapler, Daniel Orgel and an own goal helped RJC come from 3-0 down to claim a point against Glenthorne A. Lewis Walker (2) and Jamie Shaw struck for the Thornes.

Division One title rivals South Manx A and Brady Maccabi finished 2-2. Rob Hershkorn and Jamie Kent netted for the Manx. Andrew Shuster and Josh Rosenfield replied.

Paul Allen was Brixton Old Boys’ matchwinner against Chigwell B.

David Yossman (2) and Tony Plaskow boosted Faithfold C’s chances of escaping relegation in the shock 3-2 win over high-flying North West Neasden C in Division Two. Ben Forman and Gary Dymant replied.

Gideon Gold, James Mitman and Ilan Shaki maintained Red Sea’s promotion hopes in a 3-2 win over HMZ.

Rapid Banta’s Stefan Simons scored the only goal against FC Heath. Marc Cohen earned Southgate Harmen B a 1-0 win over London Maccabi Lions C.

Joel Isaacs (2), John Keller and Darren Everest steered Catford & Bromley Maccabi to a 4-0 success over POFB in Division Three.

Late strikes from player-manager Alex Aviram, Jerome Marks and Andy Levy helped Woodford Wanderers clinch promotion from Division Four as they beat FC Marylebone.
