Two goals from wonder kid Jacob Richler-Kleiman helped Manchester end Lions’ silverware dreams as they claimed an impressive 2-0 win at Rowley Lane.
Manchester Maccabi manager Stuart Delmonte told JC Sport: “We are about the team so I won’t single out individuals. The system worked. We all worked really hard. In truth they had the better of it until we scored after half an hour, but I told them at the break to pay closer attention to Ben Joseph who was their main creative force. I’m delighted that in the second half we totally shut them out.“

FIVE-STAR RAIDERS REACH LAST EIGHT

The Raiders booked their place in the quarter-finals of the Peter Morrison Trophy as they overcame a spirited Masters Rep Team at The Hive.
L’Orange opened the scoring midway through the first half when Igal Yahya fired home.
But the Masters hauled themselves level when Mark Wagman outmuscled Joe Tankel before lobbing Danny Berliner from the edge of the box.
Ben Sheldon ensured that the Raiders went in ahead at half time with a low finish past Adam Miranda in the Masters goal.
With the next goal crucial, the Masters continue to battle with Wagman causing the home defence problems but then a moment of magic from Jacob Gold resulted in a stunning finish into the top corner.
In the end, Raiders’ young legs won the day with an own goal from Adam Gishen and a lobbed finish from Jamie Wolfson clinching it.
Raiders joint-manager Adam Fegan said: "The Masters deserve a lot of credit and played extremely well. It was very close for 70 mins but in the last 20 our youth came through.
"Second half we played much better as we increased the tempo of our play and we scored some nice goals.
"All in all it was a good morning as we hadn't played for three weeks and we got to test ourselves against a very experienced and intelligent football team. I'm sure our young team would have learnt a few things today."
Masters boss Daniel Collins told JC Sport: "Raiders played very well. We matched them for a while but I always felt the last 20 minutes would be key and their younger legs were the difference in the end.
"I was very impressed with the pace of the Raiders and I though Jamie woolfson was excellent. He has a big future in men's football."

HOLDERS WIN FIVE-GOAL THRILLER
WOODFORD WANDERERS 2 NORTH WEST NEASDEN A 3
Two goals from Rob Lerner kept Neasden on course for a fourth straight Morrison win as they won a five-goal thriller against second division Woodford at Redbridge Sports Centre.
NWN went into the game missing six regulars but their strength in depth paid dividends with Adam Klein also on target.
But they were made to sweat as Woodford forged ahead through Harrison Midda. Neasden forged level from the penalty spot and goals either side of half time put them 3-1 up. Jerome Marks set up a grandstand finish with Woodford's second but Neasden held on.
Jamie Cole, the Neasden manager, told JC Sport: "The boys worked hard and deserved the result today.
"The scoreline flattered Woodford as we were always in control."
Woodford player-manager Alex Aviram told JC Sport: "I'm proud of my lads who could have led the game on a number of occasions today.
"We showed that even with big injury problems we are fully capable to hold our own in the Prem. One advantage was that we stole their cones."

Redbridge maintained their treble hopes with an emphatic victory in Manchester.
Four goals from DARAN BERN plus a hat-trick from LEWIS WALKER eased them through.
They got off to the perfect start as Bern put them ahead inside a minute.
Oakhill levelled from the penalty spot but once Mitch Lassman scored with a header, RJC never looked back.
Lassman, Alex Lishak and Ben Sollosi finished the job.
Sam McCarthy, the Redbridge manager, told JC Sport: "The ground conditions were the worst we have encountered on to date. It took us to the latter part of the first half to get into our stride. From then on we played some super football with clinical finishing.
"By half time I was pleased to say that we had total control of the game and the scoreline was well worth the 200-mile trip north.

ICE-COOL RAIDERS MAKE OAKWOOD PAY THE PENALTY
NORTH LONDON RAIDERS B 1 OAKWOOD 1 AET (Raiders won 4-2 on penalties)
North London Raiders B kept alive double hopes with a nail-biting win over Division One rivals Oakwood in Uxbridge.
The first 90 minutes were rather uneventful with both teams rather cancelling each other out. Raiders clearest chance came in the first half when a speculative effort from David Dinkin hit the bar. In second half home keeper David Simnock made an outstanding reaction save to stop Myers from giving Oakwood the lead.
Into extra time and the game opened up a little. Dinkin put Raiders ahead with a clever lob after great build up play involving Bensoor.
Then five minutes into the second half of extra time Adam Levine equalised after 110 minutes after Raiders failed to clear a long throw into the box.
Oakwood had a few chances to win the game as they came on strong in the final ten minutes of extra time but for all there possession they couldn't fashion anything clear cut.
In the shootout, Dinkin successfully converted the first penalty for L'Orange before Simnock saved Dan Abrahams penalty. Esterkin then put Raiders 2-0 up in the shoot out before Josh Rubin pulled one back. Nicky Woolf calmly converted his as did Oakwood's player-manager Ric Blank. Then Foley-Comer exquisitely sent the keeper the wrong way to give Raiders a 4-2 lead. Dan Geey needed to score his to keep Oakwood in the cup but he could only place his penalty on to the post.
Raiders boss Rob Richman told JC Sport: "There was nothing to separate the two sides and that showed throughout a gruelling 120 minutes.
"I thought both teams defended brilliantly stopping the attacking players to have an influence on the game.
Sherman and Grossman were outstanding for us but just as good were Scorah and Levine for Oakwood.
"Penalties are always a lottery but I have to commend all four of our takers as the penalties taken were all excellent. We are delighted to make it to the last eight but we will put it to the back of our mind for now as we have some hugely important league games coming up over the next few weeks."
Ric Blank, Oakwood's joint-manager told JC Sport: "It was a great battle and I thought we shaded it and certainly had the better chances.
"Unfortunately we couldn't make the most and Raiders scored in first period of ET. We did what we do which is dig deep and got ourselves back in. At 1-1 it was all us but we couldn't create that one chance necessary to win it.
"Penaltiess came and though me and Josh Rubin scored, Dan Abrams and Dan Geey missed. The Raiders' penalties were immaculate.
"We wish them all the best in the quarters and look forward to our league game against whenever that may be."

This result did neither team's title hopes any good as they finished deadlocked at the Hive.
Having beaten Faithfold in the Anekstein last Sunday, the Hammers were in pole position to claim another victory courtesy of goals from Ben Kon and Avidan Last.
But Faithfold continued to battle with a free-kick from talisman Alex Levack and another goal from Alex Kaye ensuring a share of the points.
David Garbacz, the Hendon boss, who missed the game due to a family simcha in America, told JC Sport: "Once again the conditions were very tricky with a strong cross wind making it hard for our flair players to keep the ball on the deck.
"We raced into a two-goal lead and were seemingly cruising then gave away two softish goals before the break which was a big blow.
"The boys regrouped at half time and in the second half we were camped in the Faithfold half but unfortunately were unable to score the crucial third.
"From a personal point of view, it was torture receiving regular updates and of course it was absolutely crucial that we did not lose. Overall we were disappointed with the result but not with the performance.
"Faithfold are a good strong team and overall, I suppose we would have taken the cup victory and a draw from our two meetings.
"We have still got everything to play for and we will be fighting hard to stay in the title race until the Redbridge game.
Faithfold manager Zuriel Solomon told JC Sport: "I'm disappointed we didn’t win. We have competed against the two teams above us but clearly, this result helped Redbridge.
"We let ourselves down in the first half of the season but we still have games left and the cup and the boys are still improving game by game. I was proud of my boys how we fought back from 2–0 down to pull the game back to 2-2."

Montana joint-caretaker-manager Adam Osper told JC Sport: "It was a comfortable result really. We were 4-1 up with five to go and took our foot off the pedal.
"We played really well in the second half, passed the ball and played more like Montana normally do!"
Justin Rockberger, the Camden boss, told JC Sport: "We played well first half yet still went a goal down. Adam Baginski equalised just before half time.
"They score within two minutes of second half and our heads dropped Montana took full advantage and raced into a 4-1 lead.
"Richard Silver score two late goals but was too late for any sort of comeback."

Strikes from Paul Bloch and James Rubin eased Redbridge's relegation fears as they exacted revenge on a recent defeat against their arch rivals with victory in the Essex derby.
The in-form Neil Tilley was on the mark for Chigwell who missed the chance to close the gap at the top as their five match winning run came to an unexpected end.
New RJC boss Ben Norris told JC Sport: "For the full 90 minutes the lads were fantastic. Their hunger surprised Chigwell which allowed us to overcome them. We lost some of our attacking imputes in the second half but we defended extremely well.
"Survival is far from complete but today’s victory is a step in the right direction."
Chigwell manager Richard Slater said: "The damage was done in the first 45 minutes, we didn't get going at all and they seemed to want it more.
"We dominated the second half but it didn't happen today for us. We never showed up and that's frustrating, but we go again next week".

A brace from Jamie Kent plus one from Matt Sheldon saw Brixton blow the Division Two title race wide open as they inflicted a first defeat in seven matches on leaders Temple Fortune A following a gripping contest in Hatch End.
Having lost 4-3 to Fortune earlier in the season, another high-scoring contest was on the cards as the teams did not disappoint with the victory taking Brixton to within a point of Fortune, who have a game in hand.
John Fisher and defender Scott Shindler netted for Fortune.
John Nitka, the Brixton manager, told JC Sport: "This was a game between the two best teams in the division and we showed our resilience and paid them back for the defeat earlier in the season on a very heavy pitch which did not allow us to play our free-flowing football.
"We showed them how really good we are. We are now on their backs and hope to win our last three games.
"They are the ones who are now under pressure to win their remaining games. We shall see as I said at the beginning of the season. 'we will be up there'."
Fortune Andy Souber reflected: "I am extremely disappointed because this was a match we should have won. We missed some chances and gave away a really bad goal.
"But we are still in a better position than them so it is very much in our hands. We will just have to wait and see how the team responds to this set-back."

The Cats claimed one of the results of the day as they stunned table-topping Glenthorne A into submission at Norsemen FC.
Maccabi table tennis stars Rafael Marom and Ashley Stokes made it a memorable weekend for the Division Three strugglers for whom this was only their fourth win of the season.
After conceding from a poorly defended corner, we equalised through a great finish from Rafi Marom, following a surging left wing run by Yonni Bord and some great hold up play by Jamie Sinai.
It was only the second league defeat of the season for Glenthorne whose goal came through Simon Bitton who was later sent off following a tackle that resulted in a straight red.
Catford joint-manager Adam Lewis told JC Sport: "We felt that the teams were fairly evenly matched while they had 11 on the pitch (as the 1-1 scoreline would suggest), although Glenthorne probably had the edge in terms of chances created.
"In the second half it was still a finely balanced game until a shocking tackle which led to their sending off. I'm sure there was no intent to injure our player and it was just a moment of madness, but it was one of the most dangerous I've seen in a while: two-footed, studs up and nowhere near the ball. Dan Stone was lucky that he could continue, but was struggling for the rest of the game as we had already used our subs.
"With the extra man, we grew in confidence and Ashley Stokes scored a belter of a winner from 12 yards following a long throw into the box. Glenthorne still threw everything they had at us, but we defended superbly and on the one occasion they broke through our back line, Guy Ben-Aroya pulled off a fantastic 1-on-1 save.
"We continued to push forward as well and had a couple of breaks as well as a few shots from distance.
"In the end we were fully deserving of the win against a very skilful and strong Glenthorne team."
Glenthorne player-manager Dan Lipman told JC Sport: "We're disappointed. It means next week’s clash with Redbridge C is a must-win. I reckon the winner on Sunday will go on to win the league."

Leading 2-0 at the interval, Jonny Winton pulled one back for Zig Zag but they conceded a sloppy third that killed off the game.
Jonny Bunt, the Norstar manager, told JC Sport: "It was a quality performance from the boys today. But for a 10-minute period when they got back to 2-1 the result never looked in doubt.
"DJ Neal had one eye on a cup match next week, so employed squad rotation including for his keeper. You rarely see a team substitute one fit goalie for another in Division 3 or anywhere for that matter.
"We kept our composure well on an awful surface and I'm so gald to see Jonny Kaye get a couple of goals as reward for his endeavour. Also honourable mentions to Zac Newman on his first for Norstar B and man-of-the-match Josh Gaon."

A debut goal from Alex Gold put Blizzard Storm's title hopes back on track as they ground out three points against Jewventus.
Alex Rubin sealed Blizzard's 11th victory of the campaign.
Jewventus' goal came through Nick Kenton.
Blizzard boss Simon Linden told JC Sport: "It was a very important three points.
"Rubin and Muller dominated the game in the middle of the park plus it was great to have Alex Gold on board with a debut goal and plenty more to come ..."
Gabriel John, the Jewventus boss, told JC Sport: "Nothing to say, for numerous reasons.
"Blizzard's two centre backs were superb. Adam Speck did not put a foot wrong in 180 minutes and was immense."

Glenthorne boss Elliot Coulton didn't believe when I put this down as a draw and, in the end, his troops only just came through with a hard fought 3-2 victory against the in-form Raiders.
It needed two more goal from Fabio Revieccio, making it four in two, plus one from Jamie Crawford to see them home in a game where they finished with 10 men after Richard Rosenthal was sent off after 60 minutes.
Glenthorne had gone 2-0 up but the Raiders hauled themselves back on level terms with strikes from captain Josh Graham and Jack Franks.
Revieccio broke Raiders' hearts with a winner 10 seconds before the final whistle to end their five-match winning run.
Relieved Glenthorne player-manager Elliot Coulton told JC Sport: "The game was played in a good spirit and was very competitive. We showed that we could dig deep and had great character to go on and clinch the game. We can't play our free flowing football all the time and with 110% effort every week I'm sure we'll have enough to take the league with some tough games to go. We have a massive game against Inter next week that could determine our season. Our players are on a high and we'll be well up for it!"
Raiders assistant-manager Richard Abrahams told JC Sport: "It was a fantastic game for the neutral but it's obviously tough for myself, Oli Shorts and the boys to take as we feel we deserved something from the game.
"The lads can take a lot of credit from their performance as they showed great character to fight back from 2-0 down against one of the top teams in the division and we're really showing that we've got the quality to start competing with the top teams in our division week-in week-out.
"It's been a great start to 2011 and we'll be looking to pick ourselves back up with a good result against Hendon Utd C next week."

Player-manager Louis Taylor also registered.

Inter Borehamwood’s title hopes were dealt a blow as they were held by a gritty Neasden C team at the Hive.
Louis Taylor, the NWN player-manager told JC Sport: “This was a great performance this week, and I think a message to the league that when we get our strong squad out and on the same page, we can be a match for anyone.
“What pleased me the most is how our boys play for each other and never gave up. So many times we come across teams on a Sunday who don't really seem to like each other or even like being there!

The JC Manager of the Week curse did not strike as Joel Minsky’s men made mincemeat out of rock bottom Pinner.
A stunning four-goal salvo from man-of-the-moment DANY KON plus further efforts from Adam Hersh (2), Sami Birnbaum (2), Marc Benamram, Joel Holder and Ariel Weinstein completed the rout.
Pinner's goals came through Levin and Phil Peters, the Norstar manager who has gone out on loan, almost broke the net with a 25-yard stunner into the top corner.
Joel Minsky, the Los Blancos manager, told JC Sport: "Today was all about continuing our fine form, especially in maintaining the momentum gained from last week's superb cup result. I was impressed with the professionalism with which the boys dispatched of the opposition, in a game where there was always a threat of complacency.
"Full respect to Pinner though, they got their tactics spot on in employing an effective offside trap - especially in the first half, which caught us out numerous times and stopped the score from being even higher. I think it's fair to say that their linesman was the busiest man on the pitch!
"Well played to Pinner too in ensuring the game went ahead, after the initial venue called off all weekend games on Friday due to water-logging."
Vivian Emanuel, the Pinner boss, told JC Sport: "Not alot to say about this week. In my absence, david lubczanski took charge. We were beaten by a very good Los Blancos team.
"We're looking to next week's game against NWN C."
